What happens to our program, if Walters does not end up getting let go this year?

does Poles survive this debacle?
The only thing that may save him is that it has been reported that it was Kevin Warren who stepped in and made the call that they were keeping Eberflus. And I suspect that Poles did not have a choice in hiring him in the first place. But it he made the call to keep him, along with his mishandling the o line, he should be axed. Heck the d line too honestly. I think he will probably be spared and get another hire.

Yes, you don’t have to win every year but unless you are capable of bringing in and keeping a tv audience the B1G will have to show you the door. Unfortunately for us we are in the worst situation possible heading into those decisions. There is time to right the ship, but the potential for lost revenue from the coming super conference realignment should be creating action now. $9 million buyout or lose hundreds of millions starting in 2032 with the new tv contracts.
The B1G will not get rid of any team in the conference UNTIL the B1G and SEC finalize their takeover of college football and only accept the top 64 football schools for "their league". All the rest stay at the D1 level and a massive conference re-alignment and brand name changes.

I wish that was a joke but each year or each B1G / SEC meeting, it looks like college football is headed that way.

There are coaches out there. But do they really want to come to Purdue?

The big 10 did not give Purdue any favors by adding usc, ucla, Oregon and Washington. Looking in the future, if the big 10 adds more teams, they are not going to be weaker than Purdue. So the chances Purdue will improve their team record in the future is very slim unless they add three patsies to their non conference schedule.

Sure, it’s nice to hope that a new coach will make all the difference. It’s another thing to actually find that coach!

Do some thinking. Do you actually believe Walters was Bobo’s first choice? I don’t. My thoughts are that Walters was the best coach BOBO could find willing to take the job. In replacing Walters, I believe the choices will be similar.
I disagree. iu is not a football program, so it can be done.

There were these rumors that Walters would be gone, if we lost the MSU game. Well, that has come and gone.

Even if we were to upset IU, which is highly unlikely, it shouldn't matter. Walters audition has gone on for 2 years now, and we know what we got. We have seen how he can recruit, coach a defense and an offense, which is poor in every category. We got a team that quits on him, but who can blame them for that. I wouldn't want to play for him either.

We have lost most of our best players to the transfer portal. over the last 18 to 24 months. Our recruiting classes have been some of the worst in the BT. If Walters stays, this one will be the worst in the BT, because no good recruit is going to want to play for a lame duck coach. We might be able to entice some recruits, if we wanted to play the NIL game, but we know that is not something that we are going to do, at least not under the current regime

Sometime during the year, Bobinski should have addressed the football situation, good or bad, but has said nothing. His contract I believe is done after next year, so maybe he doesn't care and is going to finish that out and let Walters stay another year and let the new AD address the football situation.

Since we were pretty much a sell out for all home games this year, I guess it doesn't matter to him, if tickets sales plunge this off season. He will be gone in another year, if not before then. We are just playing to collect those big TV rights money.

I just don't get how our football has become a secondary thought and care. It looks like there would be some pride, but I guess not.
