Vote by Mail

So why do they charge for their service if it’s not for profit?

Not-for-profit != do everything for free

Not-for-profits still charge for their services.

Why do they keep raising their prices? Well... let's go back to 2006 when the 109th, Republican-led Congress (Senate and House) passed a law requiring the USPS to prefund 75 years worth of retiree health benefits / pension ($110 billion) over the span of 10 years. That's why.

So a loss is acceptable. Is there any stipulation on how much of a loss is allowed before raising prices?

Because we have gotten to the point that we assume all people are corrupt and won't simply do the right thing. Everyone is hyper partisan. We also assume postal workers are so anti Trump they will risk their careers to make sure he won't be re-elected.

This is, in part, due to the constant and unrelenting flow of conspiracy theories from Trump and the right. No proof, no historical precedent, just throw out some BS and the faithful will repeat it.

Only the democrat party is corrupt. And yes, they would absolutely, positively, with 100% certainly, engage in fraud if voting were to be done by mail.
Sorry, you want the right to vote, get off your ass and exercise that right. And don't claim that old people or poor people can't get to polling places. That's never been a problem in the past.

So we will see your boy Donnie in line on November 3rd? That man sure has you trained well with his lies.

"It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for him."

Heck they didn’t have that much trouble when covered wagons and horses were the transportation mode.

Reversing the legislation requiring USPS to prefund pensions and benefits for 75 years into the future would eliminate any losses being incurred.

It does. But not by a huge Trump donor 3 months before the election as Trump is preaching that mail in ballots are fraudulent. At best it's poor optics, at worst it's an attempt by Trump to affect the election.

Yes, mailboxes have always been taken out or relocated depending on volume. Maybe all the ones being picked up now is normal, maybe its not. Have sorting machines always been deactivated, slowing the volume of mail sorted by 10%? Is cutting overtime a normal practice?

It's all just coincidence.

The Postal Services estimates they process about 140 billion pieces of mail a year. And when we talk about 250 million mail ballots for, say, every American, that's only about 0.2% of their normal volume. Throwing billions at the post office inside three months before the election will accomplish what?
All of this rhetoric is just politics on both sides. The post office has been in decline for a long time and will continue to decline. The postal union aided by liberals in congress and MSM will continue to complain. The post office and the VA are the two best examples of why Americans should never allow the government to run businesses. The government should regulate business, not run it.

You do realize the post office is not a for profit business? But go down that road, let's cut the shit out of the military. They are the biggest money pit.
Losing billions per year is not what Notforprofits do either Big. The military defends us. The post office delivers about 50-75 ads to me per week that I drop in my recycle bin. They never see the inside of my house.

You’re assuming everyone is going to vote by mail, which isn’t what’s going to happen, so your concerns aren’t very valid.

Apparently it will make sure the mailed ballots will reach their destination.......according to your leader.

"But if they don't get those two items (3.5 billion for mail in and 25 billion for the USPS) that means you can't have universal mail-in voting because you they're not equipped to have it," Trump added.

I know you guys say pay attention to what he does, not what he says.........but in this case maybe you should, since he's already answered your question.

The decline of the USPS has been going on for decades and our elected leaders from both sides have failed to fix it...........including Trump, who did nothing for 3.5 years but then decided it was time to fix it three months before an election in which he is trailing......and by appointing a huge donor and ally to the PG position.
You should address that point rather than once again blaming liberals and the media.

The few days before he testifies too and lawsuits from states hanging over his head.

It's like getting caught robbing a bank and as the cops come on scene, you throw the money bags back behind the counter and say, "You can't charge me with wrongdoing because I never walked out of the bank with any of it!"
It's just one more Trainwreck from this admin.........we will hear about all of them after he's gone. Gonna be ugly.
