For those who are worried that even though it is a home game and the students will be gone, look up the highlights from when West Virginia came to Mackey when they were 5th. That place was rocking without the students and to this day is still the loudest I've heard Mackey. The Hummel play where he forced a 5 second call nearly made the place explode.

I bought 4 tickets in the student section. I can guarantee that we will be bringing it. Going to be a fun night.

I guess you weren't at the 2011 OSU game when E'Twaun scored 38 then. ;-)

I was at that WVU game on New Year's Day as well. Great atmosphere. I hope our crowd can do the same on 12/22, because we all know the energy the Paint Crew brings. Even a sellout would be a step in the right direction - LOTS of tix left for that game.

Just bought a pair of tickets to the Vandy game. I expect it to be the toughest test of the non conference schedule. Should be a good one! And yes there are still a lot of tickets available.

I was there too, and I agree the loudest I've ever heard it.

You are right, I wasn't there and have heard great things. Only a study abroad in Australia kept me from that one. Considering the circumstances, the WVU game being that loud without student, during the day, and on a holiday is quite impressive.

I was at both - WV was louder, but maybe just my memory as that was a magical season with a tragic ending. Both games were incredible though...

It's not just the students being gone - it is also a weeknight game. As others have pointed out, there's a ton of tickets available. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't sell out.

The WVU game you're referencing was on a weekend, had a small student section and was sold out well in advance.

Im going and cant wait for this game!
It should be a GREAT game...but every team but one ends with a heartache sooner or later. I just want to enjoy every game with this team as I have a lot of respect for them as individuals as well as basketball players. At my age....I don't like rushing anything.... :)

5 of us will be there and screaming our lungs out! I agree that probably won't sell out but hopefully an active crowd.

There's a deal available thru Monday, where you get tix to the Iowa, Michigan, and Vandy games for $33.

Just ordered some myself, and it will make a great "merry Christmas to me" gift.

I will be there as well. I was also at the West Virginia game and it was a great atmosphere. As far as students being gone, I would hope that the ones that live locally will still make it to pump up crowd. Surely they know importance of this game. This will be biggest test to see where we're at and need the crowd.
