It’s a damn good thing Purdue’s top five players quit the team in plenty of time to miss that 63-7 bowl and get ready for the draft. Obviously made big impressions.

Oops.

More than 70 percent of players drafted in the first three rounds stick through their first NFL contract.

Less than 30 percent of players drafted in rounds 4-7 stick.

So, who improved their draft position and pro value by quitting the team?

Who would have improved their draft position by getting blown out by LSU and possibly injured in the process.

No one cares about the meaningless postseason exhibition games. It’s like passing on playing in the NIT. Especially when you don’t even have a coaching staff.

We don't know what their position was before, so there's no way of knowing if anyone improved. But they didn't get injured, so there's that.

Bullshit.

The stat shown multiple times on TV during the draft on ESPN/ABC was that 64% of the players in the NFL were drafted in rounds 4-7 or were undrafted free agents.
