1. Proved we can win in a very hostile environment without shooting lights out (2-18)
2. Big men are doing much better at not giving away cheap fouls
3. Turnovers were a problem, but overcome with tough defense
4. Let's not kid ourselves, IU was fired up for that game. They came out ready to play, and we were able to match their intensity throughout
5. Free Throw Shooting won us the game (17-21, and Ray and AJH hitting front ends of 1 and 1's to seal it)
6. As good as this win was, there is plenty of upside for this team (see 3 point shooting, turnovers)
7. As well as the youngsters have played, the key to our program is still the upperclassmen (Octeus, AJH, RD)
8. Painter can still coach, and I was on the ledge with many of you a few months ago. He has done a great job molding this team into what we expect to see at Purdue.
My crystal ball...we win out at home and get one more on the road, at MSU. BTT is a crapshoot, but we should get a double bye. I see us in the dance as a 10-12 seed (I know, not exactly going out on a limb).
Man, I have missed this the past two years. Just being excited to watch the team play again is refreshing.
