This should be interesting....

I'm not sure why these kids think it is acceptable to get black out drunk and drive a car. By the time I was this kid's age, I had already put two friends in the ground due to drunk driving. One was driving, the other was just walking to school. This was always a boundary for me. Even now I am not comfortable driving after more than two beers in succession. Weed will be legal everywhere before much longer but it will always be illegal to drive under the influence. The fact that people look to Izzo, Hazell, or Crean to discipline these kids after an incident like this and not the courts says volumes. If the criminal justice system doesn't take it seriously on the first offense, why should the kids?

Don't throw stones. If he wasn't a good player, that we went after pretty hard as a transfer, no one would care. We've gone through our own issues like this, same as every other program. 20 somethings are gonna make moronic 20 something decisions.

I didn't even know we went after him. I just know that MSU players have had a way over the years of things getting pushed aside and quickly forgotten. I'm not casting stones because I know we have had our own issues but I have always respected the way Paitner has dealt with them compared to other coaches.

Shut up, stupid.

Buddy he could be in REAL TROUBLE since the prosecutor in E Lansing is a U of M grad. That's why M$U has come down so hard on previous violations.

Stuart Dunnings may be a UM grad, but his electorate resides in Ingham county. Votes count more than school pride.

You need to follow this board a little more closely. I was just getting this out before the M$U board police arrived with their puffed out chests to advise us of the same.

No doubt about it, we all make mistakes. If the DUI/DWI type thing is a reoccuring thing, then, Houston, we have a problem. I think we all did things in our youth we're not too proud of today. It could have been much, much worse, he could have been caught with porno in his basement, lost his Subway gig, & disappeared into obscurity. There is a quicker, more effective & better way to handle this type of thing, had Harris been 18 or younger, & living with his parents/guardians. Have a law which requires one of his parents to do the jail time/community service or restitution, right there with the troublesome child. That's the quckest way to instill discipline, moral fiber & a sense of immediate justice. Or, you could just give the kid to Sheriff Joe Arpaio for a few weeks/months. Sometimes, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Who knows if his parents raised him to act in such a manner? It's tough growing up in a single parent family, tough on everyone, including the children. Let's see where it goes from here. Izzo has probably already laid down the law to him.

He deserves at least a 50% season suspension. I would advocate for the same punishment for Gelen Robinson on our football team.
