With better athletic talent and numerous McDonalds All-Americans dotting their line-up, the Jayhawks played to their full potential! I am not worried about the final score and it is understandable that our talent was no match for theirs and yes there was a bit of a letup in the 2nd half once it was apparent the victory was out of our grasp!

This year's team was what it was, one of the top 16 teams in the country but not in the elite class. With more athletic basketball talent signed and on it's way to West Lafayette the future for a move up to the Top Ten level with or without Biggie is quite possible if the team jells with the overall better athletic makeup.

Speaking of Biggie, last night could be a preview of what his game might be in the NBA, where everyone is even more athletic and even faster and quicker, his low post power game may not be as much as an advantage as it in the collegiate level. If he goes, if he is a first rounder and if he will be a main contributor in the NBA is anyone's guess...

If he and Barnes are smart, he needs to go the same route as last year and declare for the NBA, not sign with an agent, stay eligible and go to the workouts again and listen to the evaluators and decide...while the NBA is not his only option playing abroad as a pro has as many pluses as minuses...

I'm pretty sure Josh Jackson is the only McDonald's All-American on their team, so saying that they have numerous McD's AA's on their team is a false statement. Frank Mason, Devonte Graham, and the others weren't McDonald's AA's out of prep or high school.

The sky is most certainly not falling. Now since I didn't get to see the game I can't comment on anything more than the box score and the number that jumps out at me right away is 16 turnovers. You can't do that against a team like Kansas on their home floor essentially and expect a happy outcome.

Now, people are going to be angry and I fully understand that, I just hope when the emotion finally calms down they can see that we had a good season and while there are things to work on, we have a bright future with the players returning and adding some needed athleticism.

It sucks sure, but we are what we are. One of the top teams in the country that ran in to an elite team that I think did something similar to MSU as well. Not using that as a "moral" victory, just more of a example of how good Kansas is.

Regardless I am still proud of what this team did this year.

According to their teams website they have four...

Graham was #36 though.

Jackson is the only McDonalds AA playing major minutes. Azuibuke is out for the season, and Bragg only plays about 5 to 10 minutes a game. Don't know who the 4th McDonalds AA would be.

That game is nothing like what Biggie will see in the NBA. Just because Kansas had athletes doesn't automatically make it similar. Biggie will not be doubled or triple teamed in the NBA. He will also be surrounded by other top athletes and shooters on his teams with a more open floor to work with as well as guards to drive and create plays for him.

lol

Agreed, the sky fell when Robbie Hummel injured his knee at Minny. That was our year to get to the Final Four and without 3 NBA-level players on our roster we won't get back to that point any time soon.

Only All American that played last night for KU was Josh Jackson

That's my mistake on the number of McD's AA's. I forgot that Carlton Bragg was one, although he doesn't look the part at this point. I knew that Udoka Azubuike was out with a season-ending injury. The other one is Malik Newman, who is sitting out this season after transferring from Mississippi State.

So, back to the OP, there were two McD's AA's that played for Kansas in last night's game. It's not exactly the same as being "dotted" with them. My point is that I don't think Kansas is way more talented overall than Purdue, just that the some of the talent they do have is generally quicker and more athletic than most of Purdue's guys. There's a difference between overall talent (factors in skill) and overall athletic ability. Also, they have better coaches.
