Swanigan's 2nd half rest against Iowa State

Any time you have your two best players sitting out at the same time, you risk losing points. The probability increases the longer you sit those guys. That's obvious whether or not the announcers talked about it. We would never beat Iowa State over 40 minutes without Biggie and Vince. It's unfortunate that they hit everything in that stretch, but we were playing with fire anyway. I'd be more ok with losing the lead if Vince didn't also have to sit, but since he had foul trouble Painter should not have left Caleb out for so long.

I get it. If they try to go small we should immediately go to a lineup of Haas, Haarms, Biggie, and Taylor with VE at the PG position. I like it!!! We could then institute the infamous Great Wall Defense which is clearly impenetrable and would put old memories of Phi Slamma Jamma to rest.
Clearly that's the game plan to go forward with!
After looking at their roster and chatting with their Scout board (they were very civil) it appears that they don't have a Wagner type player so we should always have a post advantage. But I stil think your Great Wall concept will help us keep them from running. Edit: "End of discussion":D
