I rate Clinton $1.5T and Reagan $1.9T just good. Fan of them both on other characteristics. Easy to separate them on character and leadership, as Reagan's greatness on those accounts.... a subject for another thread. The second Bush was just terrible for multiple reasons not to mention his 3rd highest debt total.
But Presidents Carter and before were good at keeping debt low which I admire about them all. Lots of major disappointment with many of them on other matters, but most kept debt low. Even the corrupt Nixon did do a great job keeping debt down.
I look at total debt accrued & not percentages. Percentages is probably more accurate, but I just have never studied it. Hopefully, I can study it at some point.

Therefore, it was nothing but a few protestors who got a little out of hand…….and people being escorted through the Capitol.
Those people were never a threat to take over the government by force. They WERE a threat to stop the peaceful transfer of power…….and there were many in the crowd who intended to do so.
The real threat came from all the ways trump tried to stop the results from being ratified.

Well then Trump is out of it calling it an insurrection. The insurrection we are all feeling is what these democrats are doing to the country. I believe the majority of Americans are against crime, drugs, sex trafficking, and open borders. Who in their right mind knowingly would vote for this? This is very easy to answer. On day one, Biden had Miyorkus ignore what the border guards were saying and disobey the laws that Trump put into place. Biden made Harris "border czar," and a year and a half later she visited the border, saying she was very happy with what they had accomplished. For three years, Biden and Miyorkus bragged about how secure the border is.
The NYC Mayor and his Governor bragged about how receptive they are to illegal immigrants. Since over eight million illegals flooded into our southern states, Abbot and DeSantis sent only 100k illegals to NYC. Soon after, the mayor and governor were crying that there is an immigration problem.
The Globalist Corporations told Biden that he better address the problem and blame it on Trump. The Globalist Corporations own the PACs and the lobbyists and tell more Congressmen how to vote so they can be in on the graft. This is why most Congressmen are multi-millionaires while living on civil service salaries. This is why Congressmen don't have term limits, and they are able to do insider trading through their spouses.
I am not sure if Lankford is being paid, if he is protecting his interests, or if he really wants to fix the border because he wants to get elected. One thing is certain: this bill helps the Democrats because Biden was prepared to say that he got bipartisan participation to address the problem. After the fact, Trump said that he would not support a Republican who voted for the bill. IMO, he did this knowing the Democrats would use it against him. However, what usually happens is that the American people can connect the dots and see that Biden used a strategic strategy to show he could secure the border for the American people knowing that it would create an open border to bring in cheap labor for the Globalist Corporations.
Sen Lankford is a conservative Senator from Oklahoma- the purest of Trump Country. Has gotten numerous awards for being one of the most conservative Senators. His current term does not end until 2029!

I did not know when his term ended. His being conservative or liberal means little to me. I have probably voted for more liberals in my life. However, my whole life, I have gone against the flow. I stopped being politically active after reading the Ellsberg Papers. I did vote for Reagan and Obama. Reagan's deal with the Contras disturbed me, and Obama was terrible. And now, the more I see what he was doing, the more I realize that he was even worse than I thought.
What I was trying to communicate is why a popular commentator said that. Then again, what you said makes sense, and I do see Lankford as a deep conservative. However, how come a conservative commentator wants to destroy him? The commentator knows him much better than I.
That bill in no way solved or attempted to solve the border crises. He should be ashamed to have championed such a ridiculous piece of legislation.
