Reports today by a few sources is that the Raiders have made it known that O'Connell is available for a trade!

I think he would have made a decent back-up for Geno, but Aidan is a very different quarterback than he is. I'm not holding out any hope that he becomes a long-term starter in the NFL, but hopefully can get in a good situation as a back-up and provide spot duty when needed.

Good the raiders are a shit show and always will be. For the fact he produced on that dog water team is amazing.

Steelers currently have zero competent QB'S on the roster.
IMO AOC just needs the opportunity.
He did well the last few games in LV with the emergence of Brock Bowers. Just needs a competent run game and 2 weapons in the pass game and he’d be great.

Mark Herman was an All American QB. And had a great career around 10 years as a backup QB in the NFL. There’s nothing to be ashamed bog being a backup QB in the NFL.

LOOK at AOC. He was a walkon at Purdue and nobody gave him much thought. He was just an extra for depth. He fought his way to become a starter. Then he became a good starter. He was an afterthought in the nfl draft. Nobody really expected much or anything from him him. He made the team and beat out some guys in doing so. Because of injuries he became the starter and did an ok job. They brought in another qb and he kept his starter job. Each year they will bring in competition. He knows what it takes and what he has to do. He has nothing to be ashamed of. Look at where he was in high school and where he is now!

I wish him well.

I knew a kid who was a 3 sport athlete in high school. He was overlooked and became a walkon to a college in his third best sport. And now 10 years later he has a college degree and is a successful track coach at a prominent division 1 school and has already coached NCAA champions and Olympic athletes! You never know what you will become unless you try!

God speed AOC! Live your dream!

They're supposedly looking at Rodgers, which is kind of stupid IMO. He *might* give you one more year, but he looks washed up. That could be a good landing spot for him.

As a life-long Steelers fan, I'd take Aidan over Aaron Rogers any day.

I’m a Packers fan. I have mixed feelings! Rodgers started going bad when Gute promised him before the draft he was going to draft a Wr in the first round. And then changed his mind during the first round and drafted Love instead of Higgins. If Gute had drafted Higgins, I believe Rodgers would have stayed and performed better. And Adams would have worked out a deal and stayed for 1-2 more years and the Packers with Rodgers, Higgins and Adams would have delivered one more championship. Rodgers probably would have restructured his contract to make it happen. But after Love was drafted, Rodgers became a different man. Favre suffered a similar fate from the Packers administration.

Also a Packers fan, and be honest the team cost itself multiple titles after 2011 Super Bowl by holding onto guys because they were fan favorites but that had clearly passed their prime (Coach McCarthy included). Aaron negotiated contracts that were far above the budget for a small market club, and we couldn’t compete for necessary parts in free agency. Aaron then quit working in developing his game, and wasn’t able to implement LeFleurs offensive changes (every 3rd down became school yard ball of scrambling until you heave it). Rodgers was the best qb that Green Bay has ever had, but toward the end it was obvious that he was done and it only got worse for him after the trade - an nfl offense can’t be a one man band.

My thoughts are if the packers had drafted Higgins, instead of Love, Rodgers could have delivered one more championship. I also believe Rodgers started to deliberately tank it after Love was drafted and did his best to force being traded. Rodgers started pointing fingers at everybody. There was a big difference in personalities between Favre and Rodgers. Players loved Favre and would do anything for him. Players didn’t like Rodgers because he was a perfectionist and he also felt He was bigger than the team. As QBs go, I liked Starr. He didn’t have much talent; he just got results. And the TEAM was his number 1 priority, not being a celebrity.
