Sebastian seems to have a fair amount of interest in Purdue. He was offered late by Purdue yet had enough mutual interest to put us in his final 8 and choose to schedule an official visit. He’s rumored to be leaning Kansas and Texas A&M currently but has multiple other visits. I’ll be very curious on the outcome of this visit in his mind. I’m not ruling us out yet.
I believe that of the other two in Sisley and Singelton, that Singleton ends up being the better player and comes to Purdue and Sisley ends up at IU. Singleton may go elsewhere, especially if Williams-Adams chooses Purdue but my gut (no inside info) says Singelton will be a Boilermaker. Time will tell if LOL.
(I think the reason I feel this way is my belief that Singleton ends up a better player and I want him here to cheer for) BTFU! That plus I think Sisley buys the IU hype (+$$$) they’re feeding him.

SWA is the better athlete of the 3…Sisley was leaning our way and hasn’t been impressed with IU so far during his recruitment. However, like you said, that all could change with him and Mullins on campus together with Reibe as well.

We are in a good spot either way, so hopefully we get the guy(s) that want to be here for the right reasons.

Well Adam Howard at IU sure thinks they are in the mix for all 3 visiting this weekend.

They always do though, right?

They still have woody as coach…what happens if he gets fired this year? All their committed recruits will go ✌️
Who knows but I don’t really care. IU has never had an issue getting talent, it lies in development and execution. Perhaps this is the year it clicks.

I know people will say “sour grapes” because of Haralson but honestly, I don’t care. Painter can take a 400 level recruit and make him back to back NPOY and make the National Title game. If a top-25 recruit doesn’t look at that and think of how he can enable their talent, that’s on them.

Yeah for sure. Wish JH nothing but the best. Saw an article that says it’s ND and IU…IU because of his brother going there and being woodys first offer when he came coach (seems like a weak argument to me). I’d assume it’s more about the $$$. ND (would be great if he went there) has told me he will play PG and he likes that (allegedly).

If IU recruits him as a PG, I’m not sure how that’ll work out with Rice and Carlyle being back and playing heavy minutes, alongside Tucker.

The PG play makes sense and that’s why ND seems likely. Shrews can highlight his work with Tatum and Brown in the NBA.

Would be a massive get for Shrews and ND.

Back to the topic at hand - I am intrigued by SWA. How does he fit into 2025 roster? I mean as a PF, don’t we have some what of a logjam?

It seems to me that with the talent level and potential of almost every player on this team that it could be looked at as somewhat of a logjam across the board. I think it’s on the recruits coming in and their drive, desire, work ethic and confidence if they choose to join the BOILERS! I like the quality of the guys being recruited. I think Sisley wants to be a3(2) kinda guy and the other two fit 3 level profiles.

I get that, but with the expansion to 15 scholarships, isn't there always going to be a logjam of sorts for good programs? Let the best players win the most minutes whoever they are. More depth the better, but if you're relegated to less minutes, that's a you problem.

Good point. I think Painter has shown he will let guys earn minutes and figure out lineups as the season progresses.

If these guys are true competitors - the fight for time is a challenge they should welcome.

I would like to see painter start recruiting and filling the 3 position with a forward rather than a big shooting guard. To me, Sisley would make a perfect 3 rather than trying to force him to play the 4. I view Heide as a big shooting guard and definitely not a 4.

Well, it's starting to sound like Sisley is heading to IU, so...

Sisley is committing to IU or sounds like. $ is the only reason I can think of for someone to choose IU over Purdue at this time

He's from Southern Indiana and I know his family is very pro iu. They got pissed at the lack of love but got what they wanted in the end. Imo he was never a good purdue fit and I've seen him play for a long time.

Welp that stinks. Said it in another thread that when he announced he was going to MtV, I thought our chances dropped.
For sure and if true, he wasn’t going to make an immediate impact next year and I don’t think he will much at IU and I think the same for Mullins if he goes there too.

Both good players and will be good in college but will take until at least 2-3 years to be impactful to wherever they go (I’d say the same if they came to Purdue as well).

Agree on Sisley, not sure on Mullins wrt immediate impact. I worry any time that a 'plan A' guy like Sisley goes somewhere else. Hasn't happened a lot lately. Repeating myself from other posts but MP and staff will have to keep an eye on their NIL approach of they're not landing plan A guys. I can't see them ever going the 'highest bidder' route but they may need to increase their baseline payout across the roster.

I agreed with you. He just seemed to me to always be leaning a bit toward them as he visited campus there much more frequently than anywhere else. I also think woody and company were much more likely to tell him what he wanted to hear instead of Painter being very honest about playing at Purdue.

That being said, as I have said in a few other posts I think both SWA and Singleton will both be better players in college and will be good 3 level players. I think Singleton fits the Purdue mold.

Not to be too negative but I'd be surprised if we landed SWA or Singleton. It would be nice to land one of those two but with the size of the previous class MP and company have a chance to make it up in 2026. Now if West also falls through I'd have some concerns on whiffing on a whole class (even if it started out as a one-scholarship class).

Time to go play that portal then! Although, not sure what we’d go after if everyone comes back.

I think the Mullins lean moves a bit toward IU with Sisley seemingly committing to IU. Not that it’s the smartest move as UConn would be a much better situation for him. There was speculation that they were taking about this as teammates.
