A couple of Good ones on his coaching tree with Dave Odom, who won big at Wake, Jim Larannaga at BG, George Mason and now Miami. He and Dean Smith were not friends, at all!!
Had some great teams in the 80’s with Ralph, Jeff Lamp, Lee Raker, Jeff Jones, Othel Wilson, Rick Carlisle, Olden Polynice, Kenton Edelin, John Crotty, et al.
Also had one of the great upset runs in ACC tourney history, winning it in ‘76 with a team that went 4-8 in the league with Wally Walker and Marc Iavaroni.
