Purdue vs. Arizona: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

Love to smash these guys.

However, not sure we have the scoring in a big arena with a different ball? In strange areas general go with better rebounder....that's AZ, best in nation. But hope to be pleasantly surprised. Be a fun watch either way.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. From Indianapolis, it's the unbeaten #1-ranked Arizona Wildcats (8-0) taking on the #3-ranked Purdue Boilermakers (9-1) in what should be a great contest for the Indy Classic. Tip-off is set for approximately 4:30 pm (Eastern time) with television coverage on Peacock.

Projected Starting Line-Ups:

Arizona - Keshad Johnson, Oumar Ballo, Kylan Boswell, Pelle Larsson, and Caleb Love

Purdue - Zach Edey, Trey Kaufman-Renn, Lance Jones, Fletcher Loyer, and Braden Smith

This will likely be the best team Purdue plays this season prior to any tournament play. It is a formidable match-up for the Boilers as Arizona has the size to give Purdue problems on the glass and counter some of what Purdue will run on offense with Zach Edey. The back-court can be imposing and score from inside-outside. Pelle Larsson may be the beneficiary because Purdue will have its hands full with Caleb Love and Kylan Boswell.

If there was ever a game where Purdue needed maximum effort and focus and top-notch execution to prevail......this is it. The shooting last weekend against Alabama was a good sign, and that will need to continue to put the Boilers in a winning position. This game could also very well be decided on the glass, as Purdue can't afford to give up second chances after good defensive possessions on the perimeter. It will be really interesting to see how Braden Smith handles the pressure he is likely to get from the Wildcats' back-court.

Can the Boilers keep things rolling as the non-conference season starts to wind down? This would be a huge statement win for either team......let's see what you got......

Boiler Up, my friends....

I would love to know what Loyer's 3 point percentage is when he is wide open

Both teams with three thefts....up and down tempo.....Purdue getting some second chances but cold from deep. Decent start for both teams, IMO.

Offensive glass and some timely steals are keeping Purdue right there as Arizona is on offensively with the shooting and getting a lot of good looks so far.
