so this is the new MCBB? call me unimpressed with the way the game has evolved. what kind of finesse is the league trying to encourage where every box out, crossover, and drive to the hoop is going to result in a foul.

Swanigan's D definitely needs some work (as most freshmen do). He's also in there playing as the center without any other bigs, which he probably won't be doing much this year. But it's good experience for him.
i think he's been playing pretty safe. that last call was complete bull. and o'day has had a couple good turn arounds and one real nice pivot move down low. he's a senior against a 2nd game frosh out of position.
i'm not complaining about anything that we've done so far today, other than a few too many 3pt attempts.
these refs tho. uggh.
I mean I'm not criticizing him/complaining, but it needs work (this has to do with the previous game as well). Like I said, he's a freshman and he's in there playing on his own, which he won't do very much.
so what IS the deal with hammons... anyone in school with him or on the inside know if this just a grades thing, a discipline thing, practice thing?
The downside is we gave up 45 points on 50% shooting (44% from 3) to Vermont.

I agree. The new rules make the game tough to watch. It's going to hurt other teams more then us as we have a lot of options and experience.
Would like to see the defense pick it up in the second half and shut these guys down.

Agree there is plenty to work on when it comes to D. Glad we're hitting 3's, because we won't usually be ahead (much less by 15) after giving up 45 in the first half.
I don't know, but they really miss him on the defensive end. He can't get back soon enough.
I cant explain in words how much I hate the NCAA trying to make college ball more like the NBA...
