This is an interesting idea where we would have a 2 class tournament through the sectional phase and then the 64 sectional winners would constitute a "Big Dance" winner-take-all tournament format. It would incorporate some of the good points from the old single tournament format and combine it with some of the better points of the class tournament.
I'd be interested if they gave this a 2 year trial period like the author proposes. It just might rekindle more public interest in the tournament again.
