OSU-Michigan Cancelled

I hope those people who wanted and begged colleges to play football in the fall are happy! Unless the BIG 10 changes it’s rules once more to bow down to the $$$, they will be ineligible to play for the BIG 10 championship! Waiting until the Spring is looking a lot smarter today! But when $$$$$$ is involved, forget intelligence !

Tell this really stupid guy who admittedly knows nothing about football why Purdue didn’t cancel their game against Minnesota? Was it because of the $$$$$$? Or somebody thought with Minn missing 20 players, it would be an easy win?

Looks like IU will play in the championship game unless the BIG 10 bows down to the $$$ and changes their rules once more. 2020 has been known as the year when $$$$ is more important than ethics or personal safety!

It's the B10's own virtue signalling as to why its come to this. If they would have started the season at the same time as everybody else there would have been built in bye weeks and this is a non-issue.

I am sure Michigan wanted to screw up Ohio State's chance to get into the BT Championship and possibly the College Football Playoffs, since they had no chance in that game. I would say we have seen the last of Harbaugh as Michigan's coach.

If Ohio State gets or does not get in the CF Playoffs, it is going to provide plenty of discussions now in College Football talk shows and discussion boards.

That's a really strange take. The teams with the Covid cases are doing the canceling, not their opponents. You should be asking why didn't Minnesota cancel the game.

I predicted weeks ago this would happen and I also predicted the Big Ten would bend their own rules to get OSU in the CFP. Get your popcorn ready, let's see how this plays out.

That is not true for all teams! In a couple of cases it was the other team that canceled

I love it. How fitting for a so screwed up season.
Only way for Harbaugh to keep from losing to OSU.

Fitting that he would essentially forfeit a game against them in what is likely (and should be) his last game against them...sums things up for his time in Ann Arbor...more so in that it is hard to imagine that there was no ill intent behind the decision either.

B1G may have gotten what they deserved as well...in terms of how messed up their own COVID policies are, in how they allowed decisions such as this to be made, and, for their own bowing to $$ only to ultimately miss out on the truly big $$ in the end.

Equally fitting that IU will back into the B1G Championship game, if not the National Play-off...nothing more 2020 than that...with how everything else has gone to date this year, I can see the ultimate worst nightmare relative to college football play out with IU playing ND for the National title due to Clemson and Alabama having outbreaks preventing them from being able to participate!

Disagree with cancel culture to young men ages 18-23. BTW, don't remind me how difficult COVID is ... yadda yadda yadda. I've been thru it myself and fortunately I'm fine. I'm soon to be 55 and young men 18-23 with Doctors, Trainers, and Specialist Dr's at their disposal stand nearly 100% chance of full recovery. Find a way to play on.

you use the term fortunately. my neighbor and several close friends were not so lucky. They died. I don't have that many friends to begin with. and now I've already lost 5. and I have another 6 friends currently in the hospital hoping they will somehow be as lucky as you.

I admittedly take a different view than yourself. I'm highly rules and ethics oriented. and i believe if you make rules, you should enforce them, not change them. We have bent and ignored so many rules in the interest of $$$$$. at one time , the NCAA came out and said if a school is not conducting in person classes, then they would not be allowed to have athletic competitions. what became of that rule? The Big 10 canceled their fall season and then decided to play it anyway. WHY ? it wasn't in the interest of the students. it was in the interest of $$$$.

To me if you have rules, they should be enforced. and they should apply to all people. if school has gone virtual, it's time for college football to do the same - play it on Madden 2020.

Wole, I'm sorry for your losses. I know worldwide we are in herd immunity till vaccines come thru. Science backs up that this age group is at minimal risk. I'll leave it at that.

So... Michigan finally breaks OSU's streak. :D

That, and maybe Harbaugh saved himself for another season.

I’m sorry, I hate to be a dick about this topic with the losses you say you have experienced. But come on man, with as much virtues signaling and bitching you do on here you let 11 of your friends be irresponsible and get Covid? The way you talk it’s simple, just be smart and avoid people and you won’t get sick. So how is your circle so infected? You’re either making numbers up or you are in a group that practices zero social distancing. Hell I tested positive for 5 weeks this fall. I work with my parents, see them every day because our work can’t be done remote. And neither of them once tested positive or got a sniffle. 1 in 21 people have had it. It’s not just random luck that 11 friends of yours have died or are in the hospital but also practiced the extremes of caution that you praise on here. That isn’t how it works, or the precautions are useless...

@Wolegib I too have a small circle of friends and just lost one on the more outer circle Monday but It does change your thoughts. Not really at any major risk group. Then we have seasonal stuff going around. You saying I don't have that many friends to begin with kind of touched me. I hope you are doing OK. I always took quality over quantity!
