To break that down, Purdue under Painter in the NCAAT is:
3-1 in toss-up games (1 seed difference like 8v9 or 4v5)
4-2 in expected wins (2+ seed differential)
1-5 in expected losses (2+ seed differential)
I think both pro- and anti-Painter posters can see what they want in that resume. Obviously, it hasn't been enough for a deep run. At the same time, that isn't the embarrassing track record some say it is.
