Nojel Eastern

Yes. Trent will be a one or two year player. Eastern will be a four year player and a perfect piece for Purdue. Not to mention, he is the highest ranked target Purdue has at this point. I feel Tillman is already gone. We have a chance at Eastern. Go all in on him. Once the early signing period is over, go all in on Epperson. Find a few top 150 guys that aren't highly recruited if you see upside. We don't need to sign 3-4 starters, we need 1-2 starters and roll players at this point. Start working on the '18 and '19 guys as well. The biggest and most important thing Painter can do for recruiting is to get into at least the elite 8 this year and get Biggie in the first round of the draft. Then the following year, get Haas and Vince in the first round. That is the only way recruiting will improve. Get guys drafted in the first round and make deep runs in the tournament. He had the talent last year to make a run and got bounced early and that hurt. He has the talent again, but we are going to start losing it if we can't keep recruiting top 75 guys. Now or never boys.

Don't forget that the coaching staff COULD (as Wilt always used to mention on here) take a look at/try to pinpoint some of the top JUCO prospects for 2017 as well. There are still at least 5 or 10 JUCO guys every year that are significant impact players for their DI programs. Of course, traditional and graduate transfers will also be available halfway-through and at season's end for '16-'17.

I heard today that Eastern was favoring MSU, Cal, Ohio State with Purdue, Missouri, and a couple of others still trying. Comes from someone who works at his school. Doesn't make it right.

He is still not a point guard. Heck of a player, though.

Has combes ever dropped by with the intent of delivering information or opinions that could be considered a positive for Purdue? Appreciate the info from Illini-land, whether accurate or not, but it'd be nice if you ever passed along the positive stuff too. Can't remember when that's ever happened.

Do you want him to make some up or just pass information as he gets it?

If he's truthful , it is what it is.
