I saw the early line was Boilers favored by 12.5. Surprised there was a line on the game already.

What effect does Minnesota having a new DC have? Does that favor Gophers or Boilers?

Second, I see the weather forecast for Minnesota on Saturday is high of 31 and snow in the forecast. Does Minnesota play in a retractable dome? I know the old stadium was outdoor, wasn't sure about the new one.

Outdoor stadium with an open end to the field. Went to first Boiler game there in early October 2009. Wind coming out of the open end, where large video board is located, was BRISK! :)

Purdue has never won at TCF Bank Stadium. Although I think Haz managed to lose in 2014 39-38 despite being up two scores at the half. TCF is one of few B1G stadiums that face east/west and open end facing west is brutal on windy days.

Minny was killed my misdirection Saturday. Now a new DC has to come in a slow Brohm, Moore, Knox and Wright (plus others). Tall task.

New DC could revitalize the gophers, or finish them off if it gets south quick

A new coordinator comes in and his first game is against Purdue- yikes. Bet he isn't sleeping well

Last time we faced a brand new DC was @ Missouri. Worked out well for us, them not so much. Expecting the same vs. Minny.

They used to play in the Metrodome with the Vikings (and Twins). Now they have their own outdoor stadium.

Once a year, they used to have a Gophers game and a Twins game on the same day in the Dome. I went to both when we played up there and the Twins played the White Sox that night. Long ass day.

TCF is a very nice outdoor stadium with beer sales everywhere. It'll be cold with the open end to the west for sure. I just pray for no snow or rain, we are an awful team when it's wet. We need to utilize our speed advantage and when it rains it's completely neutralized (EMU, MSU).

A new DC can add some aggressiveness and re-invigorate their playing style a bit. Minnesota's offense is where they are facing tough injuries at RB and their QB is a walk on? Even if they can slow our offense down, I don't see Minnesota's offense mustering enough to win. Purdue defense is coming on as of late and should keep Minnesota from gaining much if any momentum.

Agreed... Having visited all of the B1G stadiums except Rutgers. Maryland or Neb, I would rate TCF Bank #1 for beer and food options on gameday. Over 100 vending stations inside the stadium serving draft craft beers such as Surly, Summit, Schells,Fultons, Finnegans etc. Food options beyond typical dogs or burgers include gyros, ribs, tacos, walleye fish sammies, etc. If you go, just be aware they cut off beer sales in 3rd QT-but Salleys Saloon across the street will just be getting started then too.

A new DC may help in the long run, as long as they choose a good one. But a week before our game won't make a difference. The weather is the concern, not new DC

I think they benched the walkon. The other kid might be a walk on too. They both arent very good though.

I remember the first game we played Minny at their new stadium. I think it was the first major cold game at their stadium. There was a bit of controversy there since Minny rolled out large heaters for their sidelines and Purdue did not have one. We complained and they said their policy was you have to bring your own heaters. I can only imagine how Harbaugh would react to that...
I am not a fan at all on the east-west orientation. Tough to play on a windy day and later in the year the shadows can create visual issues.

I have been there for every game since they opened TCF Bank. I am from Fort Wayne and I have buddy that lives in Minneapolis so we always go to the game when it is in Minnesota. I agree with the Beer options - very nice. Don't forget to try a Gopher Stick. It is like a long stretched out sausage roll. Pretty good when you are cold as hell and hammered.

Tanner Morgan has started at QB the last 2 games. He is listed as being from Union, KY-soph. I suspect Brohm is familiar with him but WKU never offered. Only offers were WMU, UL and a couple MAC schools. Once PJ ended up at MN, he flipped to the Gophers. He played great against IU 2 weeks ago-300+yds-70% completion. Not so good last Saturday, though.

I certainly am no expert in football, but I would think a new DC wouldn't know the personnel well enough to fine tune them to Purdue's offense. The best defense they would do is to have strong winds. Saturday was perfect football weather...26 is cold.... ;)
