I think we all agree that if Coach Painter had just implemented a zone last year, Smotherman and Cline would not have gotten into trouble and suspended. Then our best defender and our best 3-pt shooter would have jelled with the rest of the team and we would be undefeated. That's the truth.

It was a disappointing result, especially when you consider that if everyone had simply played anywhere near their potential, Purdue would have won. I know that Louisville is a good team and they had a lot to do with how Purdue played, but everyone could see that key players just were not mentally ready to play.
I just hope that some of them are not distracted by struggles in the classroom as finals are approaching. We haven't seen that sort of problem in quite some time, but I have been watching long enough to remember the days when Purdue always had a letdown around final exams.
