I often try to find opponent radio shows the days before our game to gauge the pulse of the fan base, media, and program. Michigan State’s is very over the top this week.
For score predictions, I’ve heard only one person pick Purdue. The rest have picked scores around 38-17 (+/- a couple points either way on both scores) in favor of MSU, all with some analysis to justify the blowout prediction.
The main talking points on the radio:
-MSU’s CFP run
-MSU not getting enough credit for the win over Michigan
-Kenneth Walker is the Heisman favorite
-MSU should consider resting Walker much of Saturday to save him for the playoff run
-Purdue’s win at Nebraska is (somehow) less impressive than MSU’s home OT win over Nebraska, the only common opponent
I suppose until the game is played, none of them are wrong, but I sure hope this is the same message the players are hearing across campus and in the local news.
