Moore's Injury

This thread is sort of about Moore. That's my deal. Did you not see how many plays Blough wanted to throw to Moore? Did you not see the kickoffs?

Did you see Moore’s nice punt return to setup a score? Anthrop could not do that and I really like Jackson.

I saw that. It was a great return. If you saw that, can you also say who our kick returner was?

Rondale Moore. Same as all season
Thank you. Can you inform Purdue 85 of that? He doesn't seem to believe me. He only believes his official stats which were wrong! I'm not even sure what his official stats he used even were other than he called them official.

so when Tiller was here, Drew should have sat every third series so he wasn’t over used? Kerrigan should have been taken out of every third down snap so he wasn’t exposed to increased risk?
Good God! Bad analogy and lack of understanding our point. Do your homework 1st before coming out with that bad statement. Grade F

How is it a bad analogy? You and Wole have claimed Moore is being overused and is at risk of being injured. He is the best player on the team. So should Tiller have taken Brees out at times because he was throwing it 60 times a game? I mean, throwing it that much is just asking too much from a QB much like putting Moore on special teams.

You play the best people you can...especially when the depth isn’t there to play backups on special teams.
I was talking about a receiver of which we have many of, not our starting QB or defensive lineman. I also said to spare him from some of his return duties. His ticket in the MFL may be as a return specialist. I'm sure the NFL also wants him to be healthy.

Odd , I don't recall Drew or Kerrigan returning punts or kickoffs either. My thought was to spare Moore from our special teams play.

And I'm sorry but a smart coach tells his players how much they will play rather than allowing the player to tell him how much he can play. It's kind of like a pitcher telling the coach to leave me in. The smart coach should have already made up his mind before going to the mound.

Last season, how was the KO return and punt return? They added nobody who can provide near what Rondale can. You play the guys who put you in the best position possible to wins games. If there was someone who could REMOTELY give you what Rondale does in those aspects, you would see someone else. Anthrop is the main backup...does he give you at all what Moore does? No.

The depth isn’t there and that’s why Knox is on special teams along with Sparks and a number of other starters. There is a reason why Bama’s starters don’t play special teams outside of the returners...bc they have depth.

Can any of you answer my simple question? What Purdue player ran out those three kick-offs in the second half when they could have taken a knee? Is that too tough of a question to ask? If you can't answer the question , I have serious doubts you actually watched the game, and all you really want to do is argue.

dude.

stop.

We all watched the game.

We also have access to the stats.

He's not . . . 'over-used'

Only stated to look at other personnel for KO and PR special teams. Rondale is needed as much as possible on offense. Risking him on KO or Punt Returns is not necessary. Let the Offense and Rondale do their job! Simple as that.
Rondale had 1 great PR. Give credit where credit is due. Just do not want the Big hit from a Gunner to be the last hit of the season for Rondale.

Rondale has also cause KO and Punt teams to do things different than what they are used to. Iowa’s punt team wasn’t great yesterday because of having to deal with Moore. Same could be said for OSU.

I believe somebody predicted this would happen through his overuse.

he is now questionable for the Iowa game because of an injury sustained in the MSU game. he may play , but won't be 100%.

I know - you hate me for posting this. it's not fake news. Brian also posted it o n the home page.
Rod Woodson says hello.

Wolegib is wrong. As usual.

Rondale isn’t overused or even close to it.

You are always looking to get the best playmaker the ball. If anything we need to find ways to get it too him more.

So, let me get this straight. In the minds of many people, Brohm is a coaching genius, yet we have some here questioning how smart he is because of how he uses the talent that he recruited. Not-so-coincidentally, some of these are the same people who always have better ideas than Coach Painter does for his basketball team.

I find it very inconsiderate to the Boiler Nation that these geniuses have never applied for a coaching job at Purdue, leading us to several National Championships.

Or find another Rondale Moore recruit that can help do that his Freshman year (Wandale Robinson). Never say never until signed.

I can’t believe I read this whole thread....
Not overused. Antonio Brown, Julian Edelman, OBJ, Tyreek Hill return punts and or kickoffs. Usually teams put their best man on the field for this. How many times did we end up with a more advantageous kick or punt just from fear of him being there?

Also running backs often get 25-30 touches per game and are often gang tackled each time. I don’t see what Moore is doing 13x per year is much worse. If we had a RB that was much better than his teammates we would be calling for him to get more snaps.

For the record DJ Knox has about 20 more touches than Moore this year and I hear calls for more touches almost weekly on this board.
