I don't think it has much relevance, and, given his ignorance, it should not have any, but, how is it even possible to try to put a bracket out that has Purdue as a 3-seed at the moment, at the same time having Duke as a 1-seed?

I was never much of a fan of the guy when he was with BTN, but, while I am not up in arms trying to make a case for Purdue as a 1-seed, to just in such nonchalant manner throw out that they are a 3-seed at the moment seemed odd, but, when he had Duke as a 1-seed...it seemed pretty ridiculous.

Because THEY understand the game...they all have been involved...unlike someone like DeCourcy.

I don't know if Purdue is the best team in the country, but, I know that they have been one of the best for sure and, for the moment at least, should be considered one...and they stand the chance to indeed be one of the best, if not the best.

I think that DeCourcy valued Duke’s wins over Gonzaga, who he had a a one seed, and MSU, who he had as a two seed, over Purdue’s win over Villanova, who he had as a four seed.

I also believe he allowed the bias for Duke, as well as sentiment for "K" to affect it as well...again, he has Duke a "1" and Purdue a "3"...Duke's loss at home to Miami was far less impressive than Purdue's to Wisconsin (who he has as a "2")...and, they lost on the road to OSU, whereas Purdue lost at Rutgers.

If Duke were a "2" in his bracket and Purdue a "3" and what you shared was justification...I might buy it...but, not buying Duke as a "1", and, buying it even less if Purdue is somehow a "3".

I admittedly have not dug into it even a little, never mind deeply, but, I am hard pressed to believe that there are many brackets that have Purdue a "3" at the moment...and, if they do, I would be just as surprised if they had Duke as a "1".

My bad. I got the Duke and Kansas games on opening night mixed up. Duke beat Kentucky rather than MSU. Still a solid win, though Kentucky hasn’t been great so far.

They destroyed Tennessee by about 30 today, which has the 2nd best defense in the country and is the only team that has beaten Arizona this year. Doesn’t prove anything other than there are no truly great teams this year and everyone is beatable and capable of having an off night.

Wisconsin has one of the best wins in the country, then followed it up with another road win and another ranked win. It's not a stretch to put them there in any way based on their performance. The top of everyone's bracketology is in flux right now, especially with Baylor coming back to the pack. I don't think anyone really believes in the Pac 12 trio but they all have gaudy records. There just isn't a lot of separation at the moment which is why you'll have a lot of inconsistency in the projections.

Mike DeCorsey is a hack who has always been in the tank for IU and Duke and generally is less-than-positive about Purdue.
