Michigan big man made Swanigan look bad

it'll be interesting to see if he stays there for 4 yrs. I thought Beilein kept him out of the 2nd half for a long time.

yes, he picked up 2 quick fouls so he had to sit with 3. Michigan's lead never got really threatened so he was able to keep him on the bench til much later in the game and not risk picking up a 4th foul early in 2nd half.

Doesn't matter you guys were just flat better. I thought that Painter coached extremely poorly considering how long it took him to realize that Wagner was a bad matchup for Caleb. Edwards took him in the second half and although he was on the bench a bunch he only got two points after.

What is Biggie gonna do in the NBA? The game is now focused on bigs who can shoot the 3. I just don't see him guarding on the perimeter. He really isn't quick enough. And he's not big enough to be an NBA center. And that Michigan kid is European. My bet is some team back home will offer him some money to play after this season.. Play a few years back home then try the NBA out.

It's probably going to be tougher for him to make it in the NBA (no fault of his: great work-ethic, just not a great athlete like many of the NBA guys) than some realize but that's his goal, so I definitely think he's staying in the draft this year after he declares.

I love the way Painter makes adjustments at the half. I am confused as to why he cannot do it during the game however. He always fixes it it seems. Today it felt way late.

Baby steps. It used to feel like he would never make adjustments at all and force a game plan. I'll actual credit some of our comebacks and wins in general to the halftime adjustments. Make them even earlier and we may have knocked a few more losses off our record with some bigger wins.

Maybe you have done this and are better than me but coach a few games and try and make significant changes with a timeout and see how that goes. Sometimes you just need more time than that for the kids to really get it.

Hey Vince and Caleb, switch guys you are guarding. How long does that take?

He might like basketball, and I think CS gets drafted and earns cash for awhile .... eventually some NFL team tries successfully to make CS an all pro tight end....the way he goes up in a crowd and snags those rebounds that might be his best future. Wouldn't be the first or last time it happened.

Belichick makes defensive adjustments in the first QUARTER. There are plenty of timeouts to accomplish this before halftime.

I don't think either of you are right. We've made adjustments at all points of games. In this instance, first off, he was going off - I don't think it really mattered who guarded him.

Secondly, I'm simply playing devil's advocate - but you have your best player on your team that many are hyping as national player of the year - and you want to abandon him guarding someone after a few minutes.

The fact of the matter is, things actually got worse for us deficit wise AFTER the halftime adjustment had been made. To act like this adjustment earlier would win/lose the game for us is a stretch.

Touché. That would have helped and I might even have pulled it off. Painter is probably watching and saying "dammit, that would have done it":(

Damn. I guess Belichick is better than me.:D
I am just saying it's not always as easy as it seems but you are all correct that the needed changes were simple to execute and the higher the level the more change they should be able to handle.
