List of 2018 recruits with current Purdue offers from Rivals...where do you think the class ends up?

With the 2018 class replacing the likes of Vince, Mathias, PJT, and Haas...where do you think the class ends up? I put a list of the known offers from Rivals below:
Guards:
Romeo Langford (3) (he is a heavy lean to Duke or UK...no chance for CMP here)
Torrence Watson (93) (no active offer at this point but he did pop up while searching)
Eric Hunter (78) (word is that Hunter committed to Butler today)
Robby Carmody (92) (word is that Carmody is a heavy Purdue lean but holds some high quality offers from Syracuse, ND, Pitt, Michigan, Louisville, & Xavier)
Eric Ayala (69) (another player that doesn't hold a current offer but came up on my search...probably a zero chance here with offers from Arizona, IU, Maryland, Memphis, Syracuse, and VCU among others)
Tim Finke (77) (younger brother of current big man at Illinois, he is a very tall shooting guard who holds offers from Butler, Creighton, Illinois, NU, ND, Pitt, and Vandy but not from Purdue. Probably no chance here barring a late offer and a big push)
Robert Phinisee (134) (The biggest local talent since Jesse Berry out of Lafayette Jeff a number of years ago. Holds offers from Purdue, Butler, IU, and Virginia. If Hunter did commit to Butler, this puts Purdue in a good spot after I had heard he was a Butler lean. Hearing he may be interested in leaving the state as well...CMP probably needs to land him to fill the class with high caliber talent).
AJ Green (139) (Does not currently hold a Purdue offer but does from Iowa State, Minny, Nebraska, and Northern Iowa. This may be a guy CMP tabs as a Plan B player in the event things go south with this class).
Austin Boucher (NR) (No active offers from any schools but shows interest from Purdue, IU, Illinois, ND, Butler, and Michigan. I believe this is the kid many on the board are wanting CMP to throw a scholarship to because he has put up good numbers and is probably the best player in the Fort this year)
Carlos Curtis (NR) (Offers from Green Bay and IUPUI but interest from Purdue, Maryland, and Whisky among others. Appears to be a Plan B type of recruit for some major programs)

Forwards:
Joey Hauser (37) (Holds a current Purdue offer with others from NU, Bradley, UVA, Whisky, Iowa, Iowa State, and Marquette. Watched some film and if CMP can get the kid on campus, I would have Hummel highlights on repeat. Tall kid who can play outside-in just like RH did and can handle the ball well enough in the open court to push it up the floor. This is a kid I think CMP needs to make a push for and could be a multi year starter at Purdue)
Brandon Johns (42) (A backyard guy for Izzo from East Lansing, he holds offers from MSU, Purdue, Alabama, Iowa, Michigan, Purdue, and Pitt. Supremely athletically gifted and fits the mold of what Izzo has from his forwards. I would be totally surprised if he got away from MSU)
Musa Jallow (75) (Offers from Purdue, IU, Vandy, Butler, and UVA among other smaller schools. I would put him in a similar mold to Vince Edwards with a quicker first step and higher ceiling due to more athletic ability. This is another kid Purdue needs to get to fill out a good class to add to the 2017 class).
Demezi Anderson (97) (Currently only has listed interest from IU and Purdue with no offers from either. Appears to be a Plan B player for both programs).
Pete Nance (NR) (Does hold an offer from Florida but that is the only high major offer. Appears to be a Plan B type recruit for the likes of Purdue, Michigan, and OSU. From the limited highlights I have seen, appears to be pretty stiff but a good shooter. This may be a kid programs are looking to see if he can grow another 2-3 inches to get to 6'10-6'11. If he does, he may become a bigger priority)

Centers:
Adam Trapp (3 star NR) (Lots of info on this guy already on the board being another 7'2 guy. Appears to be a Purdue lean right now due to that factor alone. Get him in a RS year, put some weight on him, and get him in to the same flexibility program as Haas did for four years and Trapp could evolve in to a very good big man. Has some good movement for a 7'2 guy and you can't coach height. NEEDS to get his body weight up to a minimum of 230 to really be effective on the inside in the B1G)
Jason Taylor (NR) (Another Plan B type recruit with offers only from North Dakota and South Dakota State but interest from Creighton, Iowa, Purdue, Nebraska, UVA, and Whisky. Big body at 6'11 and 240 and moves well but probably limited ceiling in ability. Limited highlights to work with but he looks very limited in his growth. Total Plan B player for Purdue, IMO).
Emmanuel Dowuona (NR) (Holds a current offer from Purdue along with UCONN, FGCU, GT, Miami, Rutgers, and South Florida. For 6'10 and 220, is very explosive off the floor and has good touch and feel around the rim. This may be the sleeper in the class if CMP is able to pull him in with this class as he appears to be a player with a very high ceiling due to his size and athletic ability. Has good movement up and down the floor and doesn't 'lumber' like most big men.

In terms of roster for when these players would be incoming freshman, the roster makeup would be:
Guards: 4 (Carsen, Cline, Stefanovic, Eastern)
Forwards: 2 (Ewing, Wheeler)
Centers: 2 (Taylor, Haarms)

I am guessing the 2018 class is going to have to be a big class of 5 players again and is going to be very heavy on guys that can play the 2-4. You have Ewing who will be a senior that can play the 4 and 5 to give some good depth there but more than likely CMP will want to bring in a true center with this 2018 class to develop.

If I had my realistic choice (Langford isn't coming to Purdue for example):
Guards:
Robert Phinisee
Robby Carmody

Forwards:
Joey Hauser/Musa Jallow
Pete Nance

Centers:
Emmanuel Dowuona

My best guess here and I'd love to hear what others think about the 2018 class who may be a bit more informed than I am by looking up information online. The only guys I really know about are Phinisee and Thompson (2019 class).
I will tell you this....Purdue nor Painter wants Austin Boucher.

What I know is this: He really likes Purdue and Painter and he wants to be within driving distance for his family.

Hopefully he waits until next spring to sign/announce. Maybe Painter can sell him on 3 guard system with him, Nojel and Carsen. Toss in any combination of Haarms, Wheeler, Ewing at the F/C positions. That has the make up of experience, size and athleticism to make a tourney run.

As amazing as this list is and thanks for one of the BEST posts of the year.....

It would not surprise me that Purdue gets one of those listed BUT also would not surprise me if Purdue recruits and ends up with a couple players not even on "the list" at this time. Looking @ the early "2017 list", and who we ended up with as a class is an example of this. I could be wrong on one or two of these guys.....but I think going back CE, Haas and DM are also examples of this, not making early Purdue "lists" but ending up Boilers.

Cline would be on that 2018-19 team as well.

I know but just presenting a pitch to a prized recruit like Romeo.

I think he could come in day 1 and have a chance to start. Cline will have 3 years of experience on him but Romeo is top 3 in his class because the kid can play.

Yeah, in my limited viewings I have NOT seen him be an offensive threat outside 4 feet. Can play D in space, can run the court adn tricky inside with college refs, but think he needs some development on the offensive end
He would be scary next year if walked in with a 39% 3 in his pocket. Except that they lose everyone else.

He'd start alright. Let's explore while we fantasize...
PJ RL DM VE CS
Facilitator with a 3, do it all five star, super glue, Swiss Army knife, NPOY. Yes, he comes back just because he loves the brilliant insight on our board.
Back them up with...
NE RC AW EE IH
I need a cold shower. Gotta go.

Neat fantasy but Romeo would be a freshman in 2018. PJ, VE, DM are gone

Wow.....if that gets you that worked up, I'd hate to see what a dozen red roses, a bottle of your favorite wine, a great steak dinner, and a box of De Brand chocolates would do for you. LMAO

How dare you sir! I cannot be bought so easily...well maybe. Is that steak a medium rare New York strip?

Don't think Phinisee wants to stay in town either

Bumping this thread due to Damezi Anderson receiving his offer from Purdue today.

I am excited that we finally offered him. As many have alluded to Painter's recruiting changes, he fits that mold. Kid is an athlete and I hope we get him. Pretty sure we are his first major offer.

In regards to Romeo - honestly he is tough to get a read on. He keeps his cards close to his chest. Would be the crowning jewel for Painter's career. I think the challenge is where he fits in. You would have Carsen and Nojel (potentially) as our starting back court. Granted he could play at the 3 because of his size.

Realistically Carmody, Hunter, Anderson and Trapp and maybe Pete Nance. That would be a class that will take us to a different level.

I don't think playing time would be on Romeo's list of concerns at Purdue haha.

In all seriousness, he CE and Nojel would be something else. Nojel could guard a 3/wing if need be.

It's too bad he's not a 2017. Painter could have made a more compelling case of Romeo being the final piece to the final four puzzle. But he's probably a UK/Duke guy anyway.

Another guy to keep on eye on is swingman Aaron Henry from Ben Davis. Great athlete, needs to work on the skill portion of his game a little. Outplayed Kris Wilkes in the Ben Davis/North Central game earlier this year. I think CMP is tracking but no offer yet.

What if we landed Langford which is highly unlikely. But remember that we recruited 1 4-star and 4 3-star in 2014 and then next year, boom, Biggie comes. This year is just like 2014 and I hope 2018 we will land a 5-star.

why is Langford coming to Purdue so unlikely? Is it because a couple people thought that so everyone else goes along with it ?

I would say 2 reasons:

1) most top 5 kids wind up at Duke or UK

2) he lives across the river from Quicky Ricky

I do not think Francis will be a Boilermaker he's been on record of saying he can't wait to get the Shot rocking again and wants to be the one who does that.

Purdue needs to get to a point we they can switch and not be at a huge disadvantage, defensively.

That's what a team like Oregon and Michigan did so well at the end of the season. They had guys who could guard 1 through 3 or 3 through 5.

Although Purdue has offered Langford, I don't think Painter is still recruiting him?? Or at least if he is, he is keeping it low key; I have not read anything about it in 2017. When Painter recruits a guy he usually goes to several games, makes visits etc. Have not read he was doing this in this case at least this year.

Did Painter give up too easily to place efforts elsewhere? Don't know?

Louisville 1980 has the size and athleticism to swith all positions and keep the ball in frontof you. Switching can cause huge problems...but if all the players are very similar...it can be your strength... ;)

Saw the Anderson offer came down recently. Did not go watch Riley play this year but if he picks Purdue I may have to get season tickets next season. Not sure Purdue basketball has had a South Bend kid since McKnight.

I agree and it looks like Painter does judging his recruiting commits and targets.

thanks for the update, your answer is so much better than the ones who say he is going to Duke or Kentucky because that's where all the 5 stars go.

I'm not worried about Ryan Miller's recruiting disrupting Purdue in the least. There are so many players to go around and only 3 scholies, on average, to hand out every year. Let The Hamburglar get who needs. We will continue to get ours.
