List of 2018 recruits with current Purdue offers from Rivals...where do you think the class ends up?

Another 2018....
Besides Thompson & Francis add a new name to the 2018 PGs Purdue might be after....thanks to our new coach....

Jamal Bieniemy out of TX
saw that but Thompson & Francis are 2019. You can also toss Tyger Campbell in that mix as well since Lutz was recruiting him as well.

I think Carmody is safe for now, but I really want Hunter cause he can be a CG. We do not sit at a good place with Phinisee and he doesn't want to stay at home. Lutz's coming really gave us bigger chance at Campbell in 2019, nothing to say about Isaiah because he's coming anyway. Hunter's been recruited hard by Miller and Holtmann. I kinda worry that we won't get a PG from class of 2018 which means Carsen and Eastern have to take the responsibility. I do not worry about Carsen because he will only get better, I believe that he learned a lot from PJ and Dakota this year about how to secure the ball. His A/T will be higher. Eastern's size is my biggest concern and I kinda feel like he might end at 2. His performance next year really determines what position he will be mainly playing in 2018. If he's really good at PG, we are fine. But if he's a 2 or 3 we might wanna go to McCutcheon every friday night.
I read about Carmody's interest with Butler and people thought he will end up with Holtmann. I think he will be in WL. I don't see him being a major player with Holtmann and he doesn't fit with the system. For us, yes. MWC 3.0 is where he's gonna go. Lutz will not be affecting his recruiting that much because he's recruited by Gary. I don't know why probably because Dakota was recruited by Gary as well. Just prevent some blue thing gets involved we will get him.
Trapp? He's the safest. As long as he put his weight around 260 before he comes and stop adding inches he will play a true 5.
I don't know much about Anderson's tie with us but being from South Bend, Brey will offer him anyway. And he might get more offers from other good programs even though we're the only one for now. We'll see what's gonna happen later.

Word is that with Peckinpaugh's retirement from teaching and coaching, Phinisee is looking to prep school next year. I think he would do well at La Lu if he does go but not sure what their depth looks like next season. Robert may try for LaLu to see if he can get a bigger fish to bite out of state if that is his true desire. I know Archie was at McCutcheon last week speaking with Robert and Peckinpaugh...but I know he does like the idea of Virginia.

My Thoughts:

Embery would be a great addition to the roster to make Purdue an even more athletically skilled team. He has good form on his jumper with a good solid high release. He does not shy away from contact and absorbs it very well with an above average ability to finish in the lane. He has some good quick twitch but not at an elite level like with Carsen. He seems to have a bulldog type of personality and one that would mesh well with Purdue's affinity for hard-nosed players and hard-nosed defense. IMO, I would place him as a higher priority right now than that of Phinisee. Embery has a better body and better height and has a higher ceiling. Phinisee, while a good local prospect, appears to have a very slight frame and short height (5'11 155 compared to Embery at 6'2 180).

Although Phinisee is probably the best local product in the Lafayette area since the Berry kid from Jeff (went to Ball State), one can't get caught up on a local talent if there is other talent around that country that is better overall and is a better fit for the program.

I have seen a couple of posts about him recently. If we can land him, that would be a huge get and make Lutz worth every penny. Big bodied guard, super athletic, and can shoot the ball. Kid looks like he can get buckets. Not a lot of big time offers yet, but I am sure they will start pouring in. A top 100 guard with that kind of athleticism is hard to find. I like what I see in Embery, Carmody, and Francis. Bigger physical guard. Not super quick like Carsen, but they would offer a compliment with their size, athleticism, and shooting. Carmody is said to already be a good defender, which is a plus. I think Purdue needs to land atleast one or two top 100 type guards in this '18 class, as well as another good wing, and a rim defender. A top 15 class would allow Purdue to stay in the top 25 consistently and compete with a sweet 16 as a floor. Lutz may end up being the best thing to happen for Purdue. Lutz giving us a shot at Campball is really nice as well. He could end up as a top 10 player his senior year. I am glad our AD is willing to invest the money and go get the best coaches/assistants in the major sports. Recruiting is incredibly important. Baseball/football/basketball all seem to be on the upswing. It is a very good time to be a boiler.

I will reiterate, I would welcome Phinisee, But there are many other elite guards within our grasp. It will be great if we could somehow close the deal on these guards mentioned above and the small forwards we are recruiting. I'd like to see some big men being recruited with the talent our guard targets have.

Shows great 2 guard skills. Not a video that would distinguish his point guard skills though as far as setting up others.....
