Because Painter has promise.
If we lose, I probably would avoid the forum for quite some time. It will be a rather embarrassing quagmire I imagine. Painter isn't going to get fired any time soon.
tournament is when it really countsIt's a tournament. Good lord! Texas hired a tourney stud. How did that work out?
Nor should he
your okay with losing in the first round almost every year?Ignorance
Duke with a 2 seed tells me it's rigged for the specials. The ones who get to have national recruiting commercialsyour okay with losing in the first round almost every year?
my bad, emotions got a little carrying away.Just bumping this thread because the OP looks a little silly now. Sorry OP, I usually am okay with your posts, but this was a little uncalled for.
Please tell me it was the booze. I could maybe forgive that.my bad, emotions got a little carrying away.
Since you think Purdue should be like IU, why not simplify things and just become an IU fan? Oh wait, maybe you are.Crean got let go so why not Painter?
Just curious, but do we still want to fire Painter? Might look kind of odd to have an interim coach for the 2nd round game. We would probably be the first school in NCAA history to fire their coach in the middle of the tournament, but geez, that first half was unacceptable. FIRE HIM NOW!

Yes.Another stupid thread. Are these bored IU fans?

I really did not like the approach of the team the first 20 minutes. I get a bad first few minutes due to butterflies, but it was an overall lack of "want to." Can't fire 5 players so that is on the head man for how he had them, or did not have them, ready to go. We won. Painter will have a life contract despite his shortcomings. That is about it.Hope they win this game. If they don't we wont hear the end of Painter should be fired.
And the ridiculousness continues. I am more and more thankful every day that you 'experts' on here aren't in a position to make these kinds of decisions as you would set our sports programs back 100 years.I really did not like the approach of the team the first 20 minutes. Hey we won, covered the spread, it was a good deal. I just hated the turnovers, lazy passes, not going after loose balls, missing layups of the first half. Villanova was complacent too, I get that, but we are not Villanova. Painter won an outright Big Ten title that will never be taken away from him and 10 years from now no one will remember how poor the conference was top to bottom. He can and will coach at Purdue as long as he wants to.And the ridiculousness continues. You do realize that my post was completely sarcastic and intended to make fun of the crowd that would want to fire a coach right in the middle of the tournament (which would be the most embarrassing thing ever in the history of the NCAA tournament). Please try to keep up a little better rather than totally call me out for being immature and having a "petulant verbal tantrum".That's a discussion for after our last game. If we get bounced tomorrow, the moving on from Painter commentary would be understandable. Until that happens, I suggest, you mature a bit. These petulant verbal tantrums should be embarrassing.

With all being said I will still be disappointed if we are not playing next week.

Oh really? I actually posted several posts at halftime yesterday calling for all the idiots to quit the "Fire Painter" talk during the middle of a freaking game including one in this very thread. You actually "liked" two of those posts. Do you really think I went from standing up for Painter at halftime to calling for his head by the end of the game - especially since we won the game and had a pretty good second half??? That's ridiculous. I also have had dozens of posts throughout the season standing up for CMP. Go back and look at the posts after the Louisville, Iowa, and Minnesota losses where I stood up for CMP's coaching abilities and blamed the losses primarily on lack of athleticism in our backcourt. Just because you didn't get the sarcasm of my post after the game, don't start throwing around insults.Oh trust me, I knew exactly what you were doing. And, called it for what it was. Petulant tantrum. It was exactly that.
Well I admire you owning up to it at least.I am just the idiot who actually posted something about it.
Just an FYI, Matt Painter is 7-2 in first round games.your okay with losing in the first round almost every year?

This is how you behave after a win in the tournament. I bet your parents can't wait for you to grow up and move out.I'll make the list of players Painter has succeeded with in March:
Pretty long isn't it? Biggie needs to end this trend or I will be angry.

You missed the point. Texas got the hottest tournament wrecking wonder coach of the last decade. They are worse off now than they were with Barnes.tournament is when it really counts
