Both sides' arguments are actually how things work in my engineering company.
Group A represents like the CEO and upper management, who doesn't need to know the great details but instead, they want the business growth and results.
Group B represents like the engineers, who understand the work flow, but probably have the different view from the upper management.
Keep in mind, in order for a company to be successful, group A and B needs to align somewhat. You cannot ignore the details but the results matter most.
