Kyle Young to Butler

Once again where is your evidence of him being a good coach. 12 years of coaching at Purdue no final fours no Elite Eights. There's my evidence that's all I need.

The only thing that counts in college basketball is a final four and a national championship anything else is irrelevant just like Purdue's basketball team. And that hurts my heart to say that because no matter what you think I am a Purdue fan

Yeah well sometimes the truth hurts sorry for letting the truth out there. Everything I say must really get to all of you guys cuz you respond. So I'm thinking you are thinking the same thing I'm thinking but you're just scared to say it.

Okay sorry the only thing that counts for the rest of the world is a final four and a national championship. I keep forgetting expectations here at Purdue or low sorry

You know what all of you make my argument a valid point and I'll tell you how. For about 3 months now everybody's been talking about Edwards Haas and Biggie will be going to the NBA so those 3 plus AJ Hammons that's 4 NBA players on one college team. And Matt Painter could not get out of the first round with that Talent. I'm making a lot of points on he's not a very good coach but you have yet made a point on how he's a good coach.

He may be a very good person I don't know because I don't know what he does in his off time. But I do see what he does coaching a basketball team and that's not much. Still waiting on your valid points on him being a good coach. Honestly I really don't know how anybody can argue with me does not make any damn sense.

And this is what is wrong with college athletics. This is why it is now a business. This is why you have Kentucky. This is why I can't stand almost any thought in your head. But keep going. Maybe a few others will see themselves in your posting...and think about who they are.

I have facts you have opinions big difference there
The only fact you have, is that sniffing glue kills brain cells and you are one effin moron of a non-Purdue fan. So stop the glue huffing, get in to rehab, get an education and go back to whatever team you really support. Because you certainly are not a Purdue fan. And that is a proven fact.

Who puts Gene Keady as an elite coach never heard that one. Elite coaches go to Final Four and win championships. That is what Elite coaches do. Gene Keady far from Elite.

I'm not a Purdue fan just because I like to see them get to a final four and win a championship. Sorry my expectations of a basketball team is greater than most people on this board. Didn't know everybody was satisfied with one and done. And that's not the player one and done that's the team in the tournament.

Why is it so hard for some of you fans to accept that there is Purdue fans that want to win. Every time somebody gets on here talk about winning. They're considered a troll or an IU fan and they live in a trailer park.

IMHO, it doesn't really matter what we all think regarding CMP's coaching and level of success. To me it is more so what the kids CMP recruits think of his style and success and then the decisions they ultimately make from their assessments. 2017 was to be a big recruiting need year from all the talk here the past 12 months. Hopefully CMP can still convince and reel in 1 or 2 of his initial targets.

And I think he will.....getting the 5 year extension helped him in recruiting.....

Now he can look the kids in the eyes and say I will be your coach the full time you are here...so no worries!

That's huge......

Jackson Jr., Eastern and either John or Tillman.......and if that doesn't work out many other good young men ready to take those spots...Brown, Epperson, Battey, Ondigo, Roberts, Gueye, Butz..........

Purdue will get good young men that want to be Boilermakers and be part of the family, that is for sure......Boiler Up!

I don't know if you're a Purdue fan or not. That's irrelevant.

I do know that you're not very bright or playing a role that portrays you in such a manner.

If your expectations is not a final four and a national championship then why even be a basketball fan at all

I think it boils down to a difference between a goal and an expectation. The people that are generally happy with Painter have the goal of winning a national championship. The people that are unhappy have the expectation of winning a championship. Both camps want the same outcome, but react very differently when the desired result is not achieved.

While I'd love to see Purdue win a championship, I find that I can still enjoy supporting a team that doesn't achieve that ultimate goal. I guess that's not true for everyone though.

Hummm. . . ?
Why would Kyle Young or any recruit commit to Butler over Purdue, a Big Ten school with a great tradition and fan base? Hummm . . let me think.

Maybe because Butler has been to two Final Fours in this century. And Purdue can't get to an Elite Eight under its present coach.

Maybe it is the fact that he wants to actually know what it's like to win a game in the Crossroads Classic, something NO Purdue basketball player has ever, EVER experienced.

Maybe it's because, even with that great fan base and tradition, the present Purdue coach is totally unable to beat Butler, which is absolutely crazy to me, crazy and inexcusable.

Absolutely aggravating and mind blowing for me as well. Purdue plays Butler a year ago best of ten. PU 8 BU 2 anyone that would argue that is foolish

Then again I am a Cuns fan

You negatwitts just keep getting dumber and dumber. How about he went to Butler, liked it best and just wanted to go there and nothing about what you said had any impact on his decision to choose them? Yeah, I like my theory better too.

Now go root for someone else.

Do you intentionally not use the reply function so that no one knows what the f*ck your posts refer to?

That's another thing about this board everybody so worried about spelling and grammar if I wanted to go to English class I sign up for 1 everything I put on here you can read it and you understand what I put that should be good enough. So you must be one of the non realistic Purdue fans. In your mind you think we've already been to six final fours and probably have eight championships right. Most the time I'm talking on this board I'm talking to the phone cuz I'm driving or I'm busy doing something with my hands. And since you want to talk about me saying I'm from the trailer park just ask your mom what I'm doing with my hands. Really don't like talking crap about people but you started it just because I got my own opinion on what's going on at Purdue. So hear something back at you stop being a bully bitch. Even though your words don't hurt me but they could hurt somebody else on here. Because I can care less what you think. And a lot of you Matt Painter supporters I don't give a shit what you guys think only thing I want to ask you how many final Fours has he been to how many championships has he won NCAA championships not Big Ten championships. Because the rest of the world NCAA championships is the only thing that matters. Sorry that don't matter to 90% of you Purdue fans

....."you Purdue fans"....read between those lines folks!!

The problem with this is that you are using totally unemotional and unpersonal logic. No recruit uses that 100%. They are generally "young and dumb." That's not an insult as it is true of most that age. They have pressure form parents, girlfriends, AAU coaches, high school coaches, AAU teammates. All of which have a separate agenda from the BEST for the player. My son was recruited and played D1 basketball ... unless you or your son played, then you really have no idea of the pressures and the priorities. Trying to use cold logic is about 180 degress from reality.

Do you mean Chris Holtmann who beat Purdue last year in the Crossroads Classic, which is one more win in the Crossroads than Painter has ever won?

Is it the same Chris Holtmann who has won an opening round game in the NCAA tourney, in each of the last two years, when Painter hasn't won one NCAA game in the last four years?

Do you mean that Chris Holtmann?

Somehow I would bet you that, if he stays at Butler, he will be able to get to, AT LEAST, two Sweet Sixteens in his eleven years there.

And here's the damning comment about Purdue versus Butler. I would also bet you that if he doesn't get to, at least, two Sweet Sixteens in 11 years, I would bet you huge money that he wouldn't be around for a 12th year. They expect results with basketball at Butler.

I agree. Never given much thought about it until this year. I was a stud co- rec 5'11" player. My son is a true stud footballer being recruited by everything from NIAI to D1. It's a hard to prrosses to understanding what each coach is offering. And trust me that they are not offering much and it is still hard. These kids and their parents are make a big life dession. I Truly understand the agony of trying to make a dission. D1 coach is saying we would love to have him but I don't know if he will ever play. NIAI coach is saying that he could be the center pice of the team. It is so competitive. I have told my wife that my biggest nightmare in life is that IU would be his only offer at D1. At that point I think I would have to say D2 is great and that is where all the truly good player are.
