Keep America like this under Trump

When you say he isn't an autocrat because he would be doing this or that...........you realize that our constitutional system is stopping him right? Is there any doubt HE WOULD send troops to cities without being asked by the governors if he could? That's the question to ask.

His entire life he's been able to do what he wants. The only thing standing in his way has been the law and the courts. Every single time he's been told no he challenges the laws and uses the courts as far as possible. He never accepts a ruling.

If he's given 4 more years he will continue to try and dismantle the system that keeps holding him back. He can't rule as an autocrat just because he wants to........as you imply.
The only true autocrats are the Progressives and Clintonistas - the people you’ve hitched your wagons to.

With all due respect, that is one of the most idiotic things I've read in a long time. Do you really think that just ignoring a group of Anarchists that invade your city and start looting & burning buildings, is going to make them go away? How naive are you?

What happened with CHAZ/CHOP? The Mayor talked about a Summer of Love and abandoned a Police Precinct House, which got burned down. No problem, just raise taxes to replace it. What about all the businesses that were trashed? When people started dying in the Autonomous Zone, police finally came in, in force and cleaned it out, which is what will have to happen in Portland to end that rioting. Just saying, "Pretty please" is not going to solve these problems. If any of these Mayors & Governors get reelected, it just accentuates the idiocy occurring in these states. Gross incompetence!

If they do NOTHING about it, what other conclusion can you arrive at, besides that they want it?
FYI, the East Precinct in Seattle never burned down as you claim. Still standing and functioning. I was down there last week.

I mean yea. When it comes to voting for President these are the factors I look at, and in the order I look at them.

1. Economy - This includes their tax plan and suggested programs. I don't look favorably on programs that will cost the US taxpayer money.

2. SCOTUS - I look for a President that will choose a SC Justice that matches my values (Conservative).

3. Military Investment - I put these on the same line as I believe they go together. I look for a President that invests heavily in the military. Protecting the US from foreign adversaries is very important.

4. Foreign Policy - I look for a President that is willing to negotiate with foreign leaders (both allys and adversaries), but that isn't afraid to threaten the use of military force we have.

5. Immigration - I look for a President who is pro legal immigration and is tough on illegal immigration.

Other than that, I would want a President to issues be handled at the state level.

Education - Stay out of it at the federal level.
Healthcare - Stay out of it.
Gun Control - Stay out of it at the federal level.

This is what most normal Americans and what I'd like to think that most Americans would like to vote as. If this were the case. We wouldn't have to worry about Dems ever losing because it's basically what they used to be and now Republicans have become. The problem is that so many Dems have went off their rocker and the ones that weren't nuts have sided with them to protect their own ass. It's disgusting politics and the whole reason why so many people voted Trump in the first place. It's why many people like myself cannot bring their self even at the local rural level to vote for a democrat because if they can even remotely identify themselves with similar beliefs as a Kamala Harris, AOC, Omar, Bernie, Warren, Pelosi, Waters, Al Greene. Then there is no way in hell they'll get my vote at this point. It's a shame. I get that times change and the world changes. But right and wrong do not. Democrats abandoned all of these things listed above long ago.

Did you join the CHOP/CHAZ mob?

BTW, even if the East Precinct is still standing, it's barely functioning.

I think you need some better sources of information then.

Or change its course under Biden?

RNC sold me. I think I'll go with that change.

If you didn’t watch the RNC, you’d have no idea that Joe Biden’s been running the country into the ground the last 4 years. Republicans are hoping that there are enough stupid people that believe them. Sadly for our country, there are about 35-40% that are.

And most importantly, they’ve abandoned principles, empathy, and compassion which were stalwarts of the old Democrat party. The new Democrat party turns the other cheek on anarchy, violence, destruction, looting, and rioting. They also squash free speech, freedom of thought, debate and have become race hustlers.

Definitely not the Democrat party of old. Radicals and the gutter balls who take the 1619 Project as gospel now run the show.

No, I didn't participate in Chaz/Chop SD.
My work has a location near the Capitol Hill area and I live relatively close.
The whole situation was interesting when Chop/Chaz started. Police had abandoned the East Precinct because a shooter, a brother of an East Precinct officer, had driven into the crowd and injured a protester. They packed up the precinct and waited en masse about half a mile away for something to happen. Nothing happened that night as people were suspicious and knew the cops had gathered. The protesters actually protected the East Precinct throughout CHAZ, besides some graffiti and broken plywood, knowing that destroying the station would cause immediate backlash from the cops. The precinct being destroyed would've provided the impetus for Chaz to be shut down much sooner. Nothing really happened until 2 days ago when that idiot tried something. There's been plans in the works to update the East Precinct because it was an old car dealership and lacks modern protections that other stations in Seattle have. It is still quite functional though.

FYI, I used to live outside Seattle and still have friends who live there and in the Seattle Metro area. I have friends who are on the Seattle PD. They are thoroughly disgusted with feckless Mayor Jenny Durkan, the Socialist City Council, and the police leadership. Some have “retired” from the Seattle PD and joined the King County Sheriff’s department.

Don’t try to minimize the total $hit$how Seattle is right now. It won’t work with me.

Seattle is great. Great schools, awesome food, very safe, great people, and lots of outdoor activities. Best place we've ever lived and I've lived all over the US. We're going to make a killing here on our house when we move to California in a couple months. The real estate market is a top 3 metro market here right now. No surprise you think Seattle's a sh*tshow though given your extremist views.
Fwiw, I think Durkan sucks. She's not a leader.

My extremist views? I know more about what's going on in Seattle than you do probably. I talk to my friends often about it. Some of them still have to deal with the anarchists, homelessness, drug addicts, left-wing crazies, etc....

Maybe you need to get out more. My friends have to deal with this stuff regularly.

Holy crap. Haha, that is the biggest piece of bs propoganda from Sinclair Media owned KOMO news. Seattle isn't dying. No way you have ever spent time in Seattle. You are completely making sh*t up now.

Sorry to burst your bubble, I lived there for 11 years. I sold my place there for a 60% gain because of the Microsoft and Amazon money. It was getting worse by the time we left. My friends tell me it's gotten much since then.

So in your utopian view, there's been no rioting? No homeless problems? Homeless camps? Rampant drug usage and dealing in the streets? Businesses packing up and leaving?

My friends deal with this kind of stuff on a daily basis. It's like you live in an alternate universe. Seattle's problems are well-documented. And they're are not getting better. Avowed Socialists are on the city council. They've voted to defund the police. They allowed an entire neighborhood to be taken over, pillaged, and largely destroyed by an anarchist mob. The mob harasses law-abiding citizens nightly, yelling things like "Leave! Give us your house, bitch!". They set fire to buildings. Beat people up because of who the mob perceives them to be. In a few cases, shoot innocent people.

It's appropriate you're moving to CA. You live in la-la land already anyway.

The problems in Seattle are no different than what I've dealt with in other cities I've lived in. You seem to have a sensationalistic, paranoid view of Seattle because the people don't jibe with your politics. I feel safer in Seattle than I did living in Philly. I haven't felt unsafe or dealt with crime here personally. There is unchecked mental health, drug abuse, and poverty in every major city and plenty of minor ones. It is absolutely going to get worse around the country with income inequality, rising housing costs, evictions rising, and unemployment.
How that is dealt with is probably where we differ.

I suggest laying off the sensationalist news sources. I laughed at some of the national news sources that portray Seattle, while they completely ignored local, more reliable sources. The majority of people in Seattle weren't nearly as bothered by events as outsiders were. It was all sensationalized for political gain. People that move here know what they're getting into. I'd live here but have absolutely no desire to live in some other cities that people feel are desirable.

You seem like someone who cuts through the bs. Don't fall for that crap from Sinclair Media. That's the media group that wanted to put The Plandemic on their 300+ news stations a few weeks ago. There is plenty of evidence out there that Sinclair Media is guilty of fake news. Nobody respects KOMO around here anymore.

Maybe you accept this stuff as some kind of "new normal". I can tell you that Seattle was very safe, very clean, and very cool when we lived there up until the last couple of years before we left. Outside of the weather in the winter and the traffic on I-5 and I-405, it was a very nice place. It has gone downhill an awful lot since then. That's the truth. Most long-time residents who are honest with themselves will tell you as much. People are fed up with the loser Mayor, the absolutely clueless City Council and the awful policies they are implementing, the rampant homelessness, the squatter camps, the drug usage skyrocketing because of the policies, etc., etc.

Many of my friends will not go into much of downtown Seattle at night anymore.

You're going to believe whatever you want. That's completely fine. We have different views of Seattle.
It isn't keeping people away from flocking here in droves. We actually try to downplay how great it is here when talking to people.

Good article on the reduction in crime the past few years and the outside influences that are trying to paint Seattle in a bad light. It's the usual cast of characters (Right-wing media, Sinclair, Rush Limbaugh, etc.) No surprise that some of the some of the same comments are being parroted by folks on here.

Obviously, many do not feel the same way that Seattle is dying. The real estate market is only second to Phoenix right now. People apparently haven't gotten the memo on how terrible Seattle and King County is.

They certainly have received the memo on many of the cities that have been burned and looted. People can’t leave fast enough as real estate values dropping fast and rental property is easily available. Hard to believe Seattle is the exception.

Yeah, the ability to work remotely will change the landscape of a lot of cities. It will be interesting to see the effects over the next couple years.
