First of all we were 7th in Big Ten scoring offense despite being 13th in to margin, 12th in 3pt fg pct. and 11th in ft pct. Better shooting and fewer turnovers would have put us near the top.
We were second in assists per game despite being 12th in 3 pt fg pct. I think this is significant.
In looking at teams with arguably better and more experienced guards
1. Illinois, NIT
2. Minnesota, no postseason (very experienced pg and 2g)
3. Penn State, no postseason
4. Michigan , no postseason (admittedly their guards are young)
5. Northwestern, no postseason
