I'm not much of a metrosexual, but . . .

I'm not saying I like it but the gray uniforms have shown up from time-to-time for quite awhile now. I know those kinds were worn back in E'Twaun, JaJuan, or maybe Robbie's final season.

Turn on a game and let's say O$U is playing Mich hell you can't tell by the uniforms who's who.

When is the last time you saw a Purdue team in old gold and black?

When the alternative is Nike beige, I can’t bring myself to complain about grey or chrome or highlighter yellow.

You could make the same argument about any home white uni. That is essentially what the grey replaced. One monochromatic shade for another.

Also, did I mention our current shade of gold/vegas beige sucks big time? Thanks Morgan and Nike!

Not a fan of the grey uniforms either. Seems to me we have had some poor games wearing them. In fact when it was 19 to 10 against IUPUI, I started thinking it was the uniforms. Actually agree with the OP. A darker grey might be OK, but the light grey is just so boring IMO.

Do the players like them? Yes

Do recruits like them? Yes

Should anyone care what you think? No
Yes, I and an awfully lot of others buy items, contribute, attend and support the players and school. Should I, and others control the choices? No. But to suggest we should just STFU is silly, shortsighted, demeaning and illogical.

. . . when it comes to the uni's, what the heck is with the grey uniforms?

We're BLACK and GOLD.

Not Grey and Black.

Goodness.

School colors, please.

The gold uniforms are hidious. Im generally in the old man tradition camp, but those things are just too ugly. I like when they wear the gray.
I'd love to be able to buy the grey shorts but I can't find them anywhere. actually if anyone can direct me to those, it would be appreciated.

Did I tell you to STFU? Nope

other teams began adding black for black sake, then gray.

at least gray is used in purdue logos - motion p, Pete, old & new train.

and thankfully we aren't Baylor bad with gold and neon yellow (for standard non-awareness uni's)

I believe Nike added grey to the official color palette of Purdue. It is called anthracite. Anthracite is a kind of coal, coal fires Boilers, Purdue is the Boilermakers! Boom. Now we can all love it because they tied it in. To be honest, the anthracite uniforms have grown on me. I like them in basketball and I thought they looked pretty good in football when they wore anthracite pants (with white jerseys) at Iowa.

Kudos for the colorful imagination. I'll have to admit I might still be recovering from Anthraciteaphobia.

As someone that lives in the wild world of Inner city recruiting don't sleep on how much jersey styles and colors and options mean to 15-18 year olds.

There’s nothing “metrosexual” (whatever in the world THAT is supposed to mean) about this:

Purdue’s School colors are Old Gold and black, and IMO it sucks that the AD has abandoned our tradition and caved to Nike’s washed out Vegas beige....

It’s crazy in an era where schools that never before used black or gold are falling over themselves trying to add them to their uniforms, while we seem hell-bent on running away from them!

It's a brave new world when it t comes to sports uniforms these days-be glad they aren't Oregon's fluorescent green! Originally I thought it was just wrong for Purdue to wear anything but Gold and Black. However, the team likes the new style uni's as do our recruits and I find they have grown on me too_Obviously Nike has developed Boilermaker uniforms that have succeeded in making me younger each year the team wears them! Whoo Hoo! Go Nike!!!

If green were one of our school colors, I’d welcome something like that. However, the hoops unis look tired— Champion’s designs during the Brian Cardinal/Cornell years in the early 2000’s were INFINITELY better. Both football and basketball

The next time I hear a recruit chose Purdue because of our Nike uniforms will be the first time VBG

we had it for 1 game at least!
and other nike schools unfortunately have non-vegas, more old gold themselves

hopefully the new AD regime can make all of marketing/logos more consistent

Even without the PURDUE across their chests you can tell they're Boilermakers. The two in the front row on the right are playing with torn ACLs.....look closely.
