Anyone else think that? They get an unsportsmanlike penalty on 3rd down to extend our drive in the 4th quarter. We then typically Purdued it with an interception. Illinois then missed the field goal all but sealing their fate in OT. The fumble...

To be honest its nice to be on the opposite side for once...This happens to us all the time. Still not convinced of DH but a win is a win.

qb play has been a problem for a very long time.

open receivers overthrown or thrown behind. not often is a receiver hit in stride but has to stop or make a great catch.
both DH's could have much better records and DH1 might still be coach with just a little luck and better qb play.
not saying he was a great coach but purdue would not have fired him with a couple more wins per season

Robert Marve was a true gutsy winner. Knees bedeviled him. Hope had a great one and would have had more wins easily.

But Robert grew up and became a true man who appears to love Purdue.

All of that and a starting QB being knocked in the 1st quarter was needed for Purdue to register its annual victory against an injury riddled team.

Are you really using them losing their QB as an excuse?

He shouldn't be starting anyways. The backup is light years better.
Yep. Hazel has three victories and in each game the starter was injured or knocked out in the first half.

What was your excuse for last week?

If you are going to make excuses for Illinois' injuries now, you also have to make excuses for our injuries later in the year when ours pile up and we have to start guys who have no business playing in the B1G. I won't be doing that.

To be fair, Purdue already starts guys that have no legitimate business playing in the B1G without having to account for injuries.

I am happy for the kids that they managed to get a win yesterday, nice to see them have at least some success, circumstances be what they may.

My oldest daughter texted me as most of that transpired and said that it was like watching Purdue play Purdue...a pretty accurate and astute observation.
