I love the gut punch game for IU fans...

Us IU fans expected to lose and are ok with it. Frankly, most are ok with losing out to get rid of Clappy Mctanman

I think it's now it's almost a guarantee that, barring winning the Big Ten Tournament, IU won't be selected to play in the NCAA Tournament. That's pretty wild since they beat two teams (Kansas, North Carolina) that might end up #1 seeds.

As I posted a few days ago, many, many IU fans root for the Hoosiers in any given game, but are fully aware that the result of this year is all but set; Tom Crean will not be back next year. The leaks are already starting to drip out. Not saying that is proof positive, but the trend is telling. 'Resignation for another job' is how it will be portrayed, but the result is what it is. He gone.

I believe the poll on this board which overwhelmingly thinks he'll be back is largely motivated by wishful thinking (yes, that's you, TwinDegrees). That 'he'll be back' wishful thinking by Purdue fans? I get it!

The IU/Michigan home game with so, so many empty (sold) seats, an apathetic on-court performance, and high-powered boosters in attendance was probably the final nail in the coffin.

No chance IU gets rid of Crean after winning the B1G last year. If they do, you will not get a good coach to replace him. No coach in his right mind is going to go to a place that replaces a coach the year after winning the B1G. Now if this happens again next year, he's probably on the hot seat, but even then.... Face it IU fans, your stuck in purgatory.

It would be totally understandable to any potential HC candidate that it was justifiable to get rid of a coach who finished 7th or worse in the Big 10 three of the last four seasons.

um... no it wouldn't. They had injuries this year, won the B1G last year & have been competitive since Crean brought them out the mess KS had them in.

The team was nosediving before the injury card could be played. Hartman isn't a part of this conversation considering IU was able to run with KU and UNC without him.

I don't like IU at all but to run out the coach who brought th boogeam out of the depths of hell Sampson put the program in should be given ample time to turn it around.

No doubt it's wishful thinking. But we have been saying it all along, even as so many Hoosier fans have come over here to brag about how great their coach is. At least we have been consistent. When did you start disagreeing with us?
