Wrong, Painter is the lead recruiter for all the players he recruits. He has also taken complete ownership in the recruiting mistakes he made in the early 2010’s, particularly with the saucy one.

Yes, but it also showed his system can get there. His system is proven to win with less talent. Not one person can deny that, but winning in march....takes talent and toughness. CE was March talent.
I'm just not a fan of repairing a program every 5-10 years and expecting a different outcome when it's 90%... there. I am a fan of telling the coach that he needs to go. If he can't put together a team of mentally tough players that can make deep runs in march. This is where Bob needs to make it clear that Paint you're on a 1 year probation.
Maybe we need to bring Raph in to teach his teams how to be tough and play physical and a offense/recruiter to match what march is.
He couldn't just like many coaches couldn't. The difference between the 2. You know Paint will get there and there's a chance you're either bounced in the 1st round or have a chance to at least a S16 (1/3 of his tenure). Arch (0/4) you knew you weren't making the dance. Under Paint at Purdue 1/3 of his teams make the S16 vs IU 5 coaches(6th dakich) has 1/6 chance. So, there's evidence of sustainability vs. flip flopping coaching every 3-5 years. It's just not sustainable. Every coach has out recruited Purdue and yet "zero" sustainable success.
Even after this mess and it's really hard to swallow, but give Paint 1 more year with zero excuses and have a plan for a replacement.
Baylor was trash before they won the chip, Nova was trash before they got their 2 chips, Florida was trash before they went back to back. You know what almost all 1st time chip winners have in common?
Consistently being putting good teams in the tourney until lightning strikes and they go on a run. We were on the verge 5 years ago, and made 4 out of 5 sweet 16's. There were like 3 teams that could say the same going into this tourney. Even now 4 sweet 16's out of the last 6 touneys is a record anyone not fully blue blooded would love to have.
We likely return our entire team next year with 2 additional more athletic freshmen and a Big who can shoot 3's. We will see how the offseason impacts our team, but the future is very bright. Let's follow Virginia's lead and follow up the embarrassing loss with a chip.

Yeah we underachieved a little bit but we beat you twice so I think it's you that underachieved because you went out first round of the tournament right with your great Zach Edie you know your top five teams that you were supposedly. Yeah and I don't like Purdue fans either especially you.
what does IUs success or lack thereof have anything to do with Purdue's and vice versa. other than the 2x they play each year who gives a shit. the tournament is a crap shoot. yeah, the last 3 years Purdue has lost to lesser teams. do you realize Kansas has failed to reach the sweet 16, 5 different times as a 1 seed in the last 16 years. Purdue will never recruit with the UKs Dukes Kansas's UCLAs or even Indiana's of the world. Be careful what you wish for Painter has been a helluva coach for you.

There are about 3-4 regular posters here who usually post infrequently when we are winning. Let us lose, then they are all over every thread. Deac and Bonefish are two examples of this phenomenon. They have been around for years. I’m sure both are Purdue fans, but they like to sit quiet when we are winning, but want to tell us all how terrible things are when our boys slip up.
You can’t change their minds with logic or realistic perspectives. However, you can help others understand that they express a minority view. As for me, I’m kinda tired of reading that crap, so I just skip past most of those posts. I've found myself a bit less weighted down by concerns when I skip the Debbies and make my own judgements on Purdue sports.

Look...I know purdue fans are disappointed about outcomes the last two years, but let's keep things in perspective and not jump off the edge...We have been to sweet 16's in 2017,2018,2019 (elite eight, seconds from final 4) and 2022. Everyone forgets we were in sweet 16 when we got beat by a higher seed (who btw just had upset UK). Let's have a class and keep our chins up and not be idiot fans like down south. Painter is an excellent coach and nobody outside of Purdue fans really gives a damn about who we lost to at this point...they have moved on. Again, this team overachieved and won every tournament they were in this year, it's disappointing that they ran out of gas at the end, but they will be back bc they are winners! Look at Lunardi's early bracketology for next year (for you neysayers), he has Purdue as one of the 1 seeds...so no, we have not lost respect. Every sane mind outside of Bloomington knows that we are a good program. March Madness, is just that, and there will be more 16 v 1 upsets in the future...bc the field has been leveled. Let's support our team!

He’s in a tight spot. You’re selling access to the program to your customers, but you could lose some of that access if your customers speak too frankly about said program.

Here’s an example. Moms would be like “it’s all random” after Purdue lost to FDU. If you replied that Purdue shot 3s at 281st in the nation all year so losing to the 64th best team in the tourney (in a game where they shot terrible from 3) isn’t random… it’s one thing to disagree. But the board police would call you names, get nasty and probably want you banned.
