He was definitely on the short list, and everyone on that list was neck-and-neck. Miles didnt make it past his interview, and Fleck wouldnt shit or get off the pot, and both he and Purdue soured on each other. Who knows who was contacted first between the three, but it speaks volumes that Brohm was targeted early, maintained interest, named his price, and MBob closed. Sounds like the right guy to me. Time will tell if he is or isnt.

Jim Tressel won a national championship at OSU (not fired for football reasons). Grigson I believe was GM of the Year with the Colts. All that proves is that football is a fickle business and if you stick around long enough odds are good that you'll eventually fall on hard times and be replaced.

Not to mention the vast majority of fans on this board refused to criticize Hazell at all for a couple of seasons.

So true. The endorsements by Grigson and Tressel were widely viewed as compliments when Hazell was hired. Now all of the sudden neither has no football credibility and it's damning to be associated with them. I swear half of the people on this board are living life in a fantasy camp.

Plus Louisville has a handful of 4 and 5 star QB's on the bench dying to play for Petrino several of those guys will transfer and they will send them to Jeff and when he coaches them up look out.

I would have bet anything there was a thread on the board alerting others that Fleck was the pick. I think it was titled something to affect of "GBI saying it's Fleck with announcement Monday". I just tried to find it but didn't see it. Maybe I'm misremembering.

Paid attendance was 30-40 thousand every game this year. Some of the photos were ugly because people don't stay when you're losing by 4 touchdowns to Northwestern in mid-November or even bother coming when you've lost 5 straight and about to play a meaningless team against a top-ten Wisconsin team in late November.

Give us something to cheer for and there will be people there. The problem with the past few years is we had nothing to cheer for and had lost pretty much all hope by the time this year rolled around.

QB is one position where we have some talent. If Petrino has any spare 4 star pass rushers we could really use some of those.

He could always use another good QB to promote competition to start which is what he will do.
