great game by Purdue

Purdue lost by 3 points to the defending national champs. Couldn't quite get over the hump at the end. Haas and Biggie put up big efforts with points. This game experience will pay off down the road.
I am sick of hearing how losers think...Just think of how much it will pay off for Nova.
They won we lost...the Painter way.

We played well enough to win. You are right, hit those FT and we win. Painter did an outstanding job putting the team into position to win.

Those are games you have to win at home!!!!!Our talent level is on par with theirs.........but we just cant find ways to win the close one's! Been a pattern for a long time now..........

For this early in the season, I thought we played pretty darn good! Hopefully this is a building block for a tougher team later in the season.

Good can definitely come out of this, but the headline of "Great game for Purdue" is a complete losers mentality. Good effort especially since we were short handed much of the night, but it was not a "Great game for Purdue".

I wholeheartedly agree. I'm the last one to get on the typical "everything is fine no matter what" brigade - BUT, this was a really fun game, in Mid-November.

I actually feel better about the team than before tip-off. Mostly down to how freaking good Biggie looked. I though the 2 offensive fouls were suspect, outside of that he looked like the best player on the court for both team (willing to concede if you believe Hart was better, but its really close) He really looks like he took a huge step up based on the last two games.

Vince, however... I do think he just had a bad game. but his foot-speed against elite wings is scary slow. He's going to have a hard time at the 3 against a lot of the top teams we face this year. Hope I am wrong. But even with that, we should be competing at the top of the conference, even if IU & MSU looked good last week. Interested in seeing WI early as well.

Should be a fun year! I am completely blacking out any thoughts on recruiting classes and future rosters and just enjoying this ride for the next 6 months!

Michigan state is known for playing these good non conference teams. That is why people think they do good come conference games and tournament time. Experience like this can help a lot.

I like the fact we are playing excellent competition in pre-conference. We should do this every year. It tells you where you are much better than playing the cupcakes. We know we need to take better care of the ball and hit free throws as well as stop dribble penetration. I also think Painter HAS TO GO TO BAT for his big guys. I said this many times last year. He is entirely too passive when it comes to the calls involving IH and CS. Overall we played well, but not well enough to win. This is a recurring theme for Purdue sports in general in big games. I do think we are a good team and have a chance to do something if we can take care of a few fundamental things.
