Anyone know if he is related to Larry Weatherford who played for PU around 1970? He was a very good shooting guard. This kid could be a grandson. Weatherford is not a very common name.

I may be totally wrong, but I think Larry was African American, and Grant is caucasian. Again, not totally sure on that.

OK, Larry was black and I didn't know the race of Grant. We don't get any info on PU down here in SW Florida except what I get on G&B.

GW is going to be a nuisance to play against. Now offensively he doesn't belong in the B1G, but defensively I think he might mature into a Mike Kelly type of pg, a tough all defensive guard who took Wisconsin to the FF in 2000.

Doesn't matter because according to the front page both he and Cline have decommitted.

I have a good buddy who's a former small school college basketball coach (was also grad assistant to Crean at Marquette) and who's son plays for Peru. He said Grant just destroyed them. He's not flashy or smooth but he's tough as nails. I asked him if he saw Chris Kramer in him. He said he has more offense than Kramer had as a freshman but equally as tough. Has a motor that won't stop.

That's funny. I wondered the same thing at first, then saw his pic, and had to withdraw my question :)

I think a good comparison for Weatherford is Zak Showalter from Wisconsin. Just a tough, hard-nosed athlete who can come in and play defense. Will always compete.

Now that we have Grant's race figured out - how about checking out this very nice article about him heading into his team's sectional championship game - which they ended up winning.

yeah but race only entered into teh conversation

when someone was wondering if Larry was a relative. Race for the sake of race was of no concern...

G&B has published several pictures of him on the recruiting front page. There is two there right now.
