For all of the FIRE PAINTER! Morons

Not really sure. I will say that I would model us after what the SEC is doing from a coach/athlete standpoint. I sadly see basketball going the same way as football where the SEC is head and shoulders above everyone else.
You know, he keeps playing the “who will replace him” card as his end game but the answer to his question is quite simple:

Did we have a named successor before Brohm made his announcement that he’s leaving for Louisville? The new coach seems to be picking up where Brohm left off just fine, at least from the surface.

I personally think a better fit for the program (one who’s playing style is more current with the times and can recruit top athletes) is out there but we may never find out if we don’t try.

Do you even remember the original point? You're so lost in insults and being offended you probably have no idea. And you have the nerve to call literally anyone else emo? You have zero self awareness bro.
I’m not the one throwing internet tantrums… has reality set in yet for you?

Little Archie didn’t lose to any “jive teams” in the NCAA when he was at IU. Do you want to go after him?
Nope. Archie is a jive coach. Archie didn’t lose to a jive team in the NCAA because they couldn’t get in the tournament in the first place.

Most of the "fire Painter" rhetoric came in the heat of the moment. I do not believe that most serious fans think that should happen.

There is lots of room between "fire Painter" and "keep doing things just the way you are doing them, coach!" A reasoned, rational discussion with administration regarding in-game adjustments, increased defensive set options (zone), offensive flexibility, and how to break a f*cking press is certainly in order. Change is needed, dismissal is not.

Yep, losing to double-digit seeds three years in a row shows that he’s got things trending in the right direction.
Three unfortunate losses for sure, but let's look at those three years.

18-10, ranked #20, 4 seed in tournament
29-8, ranked #10, 4 seed in tournament, sweet 16
29-6, ranked #3, 1 seed in tournament, conference champs, conference tournament champs

If you want to focus on 3 games and ignore the other 97, you have a strong case for the program trending in the wrong direction.

Painter has not and will not change. Therefore, he has got to go.

For all of the posters who think Bobinski should have fired Matt Painter, I have a question for you:

If Purdue had gone 10-10 in the B1G, got a 9 seed and lost to an 8 seed in the NCAA, would you still want Painter fired?
Purdue did not finish 10-10, 8 or 9 seed. Big 10 champs and a 1 seed. What was your expectation for the NCAA tournament? To play like a 1 seed and at least Elite 8 or a flameout? Sure we exceeded some expectations during the season, but we were expected to play like a 1 seed.

Three straight years Purdue has flamed out in the tournament. Only constant is Matt Painter.

And another thing, when are you going list all the P5 teams supposedly trying to hire Painter?

Yeah, good point. It would be horrible for football states to get top talent

Purdue Has made 4 sweet 16’s in the last 6 tournaments. (2020 - cancelled).
I’m curious how many other programs have made the second weekend over that time frame.

I agree FDU game was awful, but I think a coaching change would put us more on the Nebraska, Minnesota, Penn state, northwestern level and not on a championship contender level.
You really think Purdue is at the level of those programs? You can’t be serious.

I'm paraphrasing, but he's basically saying we can recruit and get good big guys but not so much with the athletic and scoring guards. That right there is the problem.
Yep he knew this wasn’t a great team and you can’t not throw the ball to Edey.

I suppose by reality, you mean to agree with you? My opinion is you haven't met reality yet. It seems like you're in denial. And, now you're just lashing out at anyone that doesn't agree with you. Have you always struggled with someone disagreeing with you? Honestly, having a debate with others is how I've learned things. And changed my thoughts about things. Otherwise, you're just stuck in your own little closed world.

Well hopefully you realize he is not going anywhere. The fact is winning BT championships , filling your arena, and running a clean program will keep him employed at Purdue as long as he wants. So if you don't change, you need to go.

If Matt left, I would say he would have pick of 50% of the Power 5 Conf jobs out there.

By reality, i mean the hard truth that Matt Painter isn’t getting fired because a handful of uniformed, unimportant, basketcases get mad on the internet.

If that is the case, mark my words now. As long as Painter is head coach, Purdue will NEVER get to the Final 4, let alone win a national championship. I will have to lower my expectations and settle and for BIG championships every now and then. It’s a wrap.

You might be right. The thing with painter is is that you know you’ll almost always have a team that is competitive with the possibility of making a tourney run. If you go away from painter you don’t know what you’re getting. Purdue can very well turn into Minnesota for many years.

I don't mean this to be flippant, but adjusting your expectations seems like a healthy thing to do. Matt isn't going anywhere and if he exceeds your lowered expectations that's a win too.

First of all, if anyone is mad it's you. You're too fragile to cope with opposing views. And calling those who disagree with you uniformed and unimportant is a sad, shallow and narcissistic view. And highlights your fragility. You're clearly compensating for something. A well rounded and confident person isn't so afraid of disagreement.

You are arguing that Walters (that's the Purdue football coach's name, BTW) is performing as well as Brohm did? This is not a supporting argument to replace Painter, like you think it is.

And yet, everyone who knows anything about college basketball agrees with me.

Guy who freaks out on the internet over a college basketball game = fragile.

You may be right, but Painter won’t be the reason we don’t make it to a final four.
