Caught up with West Bloomfield, Mich., DT Eddy Wilson today after he got back from his Purdue official visit and we talked about his weekend commitment.
We have had Wilson rated as a BCS-caliber prospect from the beginning. Great size at 6-4, 265 and moves very well for that size. Surprised it took this long for him to get some Big Ten looks, but I think Purdue fans are going to be very happy with the pick up. He is a versatile player, says Purdue is looking at him for the three-technique DT spot and five-technique DE spot. He has the ability to play both, and a very high upside guy. I think as Purdue fans get to know him more they will also be impressed with him as a person. Very outgoing, charismatic kid. Always has struck me as mature beyond his years. Nice late add for the Boilermakers.
