possibly gained weight? I remember when he played his first game this year how thin he looked in comparison, but as I watched the Iowa State game, he looked bigger...maybe it was angle...maybe my imagination...who knows. Am I the only one wondering if this happened?

Well they say the camera adds 20 lbs.

Maybe after continuing his work regiment throughout another season he has added that much more muscle....Although I've convinced my husband it's the new lenses in his glasses where I am concerned:p.

I noticed it actually. I don't want this to sound critical, love Biggie, and it could just be lighting/camera and whatnot, but looked like non-muscle weight gain. True or not (and I doubt it is) it hasn't impacted his play.

Doubtful he's gained weight in season. He appears to have ditched the undershirt, so maybe seeing more of his shoulders changes the optics.

I'd be stunned if he's gained weight, given the toll the season takes + his workout regimen.

it appeared to me in his thickness (side view), but could be just my imagination...never was explosive, but doesn't seem as explosive either. I'm not critical either. You wouldn't think so with all his playing and exercising. I noticed on the plane to Kansas City..he was carrying a gallon of water on the plane...

me too...that is why I'm trying to reconcile my eyes in a side view and explosiveness...doesn't make sense doe it?

That's interesting you would say that. During the game against ISU we had a house full of PU fans and several made the comment they thought he had shown more explosiveness lately. A couple of dunks and blocked shots in recent games specifically.

Well, their views make sense during the season for sure. I just remember the shock when he came out on the floor for the first game this year and how much thinner he looked and for whatever reason I saw something different in the Iowa State game. Mine doesn't make sense..maybe it is my blood sugar affecting my eyes. I know he has blocked shots the last few games, but prior to that he never really tried.

The 2010 unis probably don't have the slim taper cut that the new unis have. I am guessing here but the newer styles have a slimmer taper towards the waist.

Again, I have no idea and hope it was my imagination because if his genetics areTHAT bad with all teh conditioning he is going to have a tougher life than I ever imagined with his weight

TJ, I noticed a "thicker" look too, primarily in the chest. But I am guessing it was a lighting/camera angle thing we picked up on. Dude is a disciplined workout beast. You aren't alone with your rooting for Biggie to overcome (and stay overcame) regarding his physical health. Genetics are not in his side so discipline is a must (I can commiserate).

I am maybe four or five pounds above my college weight AFTER I deliberately gained weight in college. However, I can tell I'm not near as strong as I was just a few years ago. Interesting I just received an email from 23 and me today saying my European genetics had me about average in weight with 407 variants for lower weight and 349 variants for higher weight all compared to average. Still, weight is a battle many have...(and I fight it too) that can easily be lost. The gallon of water Biggie had boarding the plane could help keep him hydrated (always in heavy sweats instead of just shorts and things) and remove some hunger if that is an issue.

I try to eat in moderation (mostly), says the guy currently sitting at Kilroy's eating a chicken wrap and waffle fries after consuming a (half) order of insanely good stuffed breadsticks. I do have a Diet Coke instead of a beer though :D

I haven't had a coke in 4 to 5 years. Bread is my Achilles Heel...I love bread, but can't eat it much...same with pizza, pasta, rice. What I would love to do is to load up about 8 pieces of toast with peanut butter and grape jelly and eat all I want. :)

Instead it was salad, with some peppers, sliced egg, cheese and mesquite chicken on the salad for me. Lunch was a quick hot dog at Sam's Club to pick up some things and I tore off half the bun with Tea..and I drink a lot of tea and coffee. I self medicate my glimpiride medicine taking about half the dosage so my pancreas doesn't get used to it...trying to watch what I eat. when it gets warmer...I can work outside adn that helps, but the older I get the more I hate the cold... :)

Sorry you have to constrain the diet so, but the healthy food will pay dividends on the back end. 42, workout and decent weight, and no health issues except I have to have basil cell trimmed from my nose next week (evil sun). I still eat "bad" shit on occasion, but moderation baby.

Everybody has a cross to bear...I'm no different. Diabetes has a genetic component to it. My father was paralyzed on his right side and lost his ability to speak in Oct of my junior year of college due to being diabetic and nobody knew he was diabetic. It wasn't noticed as much back then. About 10 or so years ago, the doc told me that I needed to get my blood sugar under control or in the next five years it was very likely that 1) they could be removing limbs 2) kidney failure 3) heart attack 4) go blind 5) a little of all. None looked all that appealing to me and so I decided I needed to work on diet.

That little lady with me helps me with that in that she is a little over 5'5" and around 115 pounds or so and since she watches her weight it helps. NONE of this was an issue years ago when I played a LOT of ball up until about 42 or so...but that was a long time ago. I drink beer, but it helps if I'm working in the sun. Anyway, my blood work is great other than I'm too sweet of a guy in spite of what others may think... :)
