Did Two Tone McClapperson do a drive by on the hand shake or did it

I rarely post about Crean, but if so.....that's just incredibly poor sportsmanship, rivalry or not....and no example to be setting for young men you're coaching. But I didn't see it, and I'll leave it at that.
I watch most of the IU games just as I do other college games, and I think Crean has been even more "weird" the last half of this season than ever before. His actions on the sidelines, the lack of intensity his team has, his pressers blaming everyone else....I'm guessing he's the next Woody Hayes.

Did you guys catch when the ref pushed him back off the floor and into the coaching box? I started clapping at home. My wife was WTF? It was great!

As for Tommy's sportsmanship, well, he is at the bottom of scale for the most part. A lousy winner, and an even worse loser. He embarrasses IU, which is tough to do in some respects.

He did the blow by with about 2 seconds left. I suppose that means he skipped the players handshakes. When they win he usually hands out all kinds of wisdom.

I might be gullible and not realize you guys are joking, but he gave painter his normal quick handshake with a little fist bump to the elbow

I wasn't joking....I was asking when I posted this. I never saw him shake hands with anyone, and if some have said, he did not, then I will join with those Hoosier fans who want better and ask that Crean be fired tomorrow morning. I still have enough respect for IU and for many of my Hoosier friends that behavior like that is not acceptable.

No problem, like someone said, check the top of the screen at the :02 mark

Yep, I couldn't get it back on my TV.....watched the Watch-ESPN replay.....just a few seconds early....I missed it from excitement and watching Senior McKeeman dribble it out.

this happened almost 3 straight times down the court... guess the ref was looking for him by then!
later he seemed to hide down near the corner more

I noticed this too. I was hoping Mathias would have run him over at the end when they stole the ball and hit the three. At one point crean walked around in front of the ref when the ball was on that side of the court. The ref pulled him into the coaches box after he got about 18" Away from his PG while he was dribbling the. All at the key. I was surprised he never got T'ed up, but enjoyed hearing the paint crew get on his case.

Not a Crean fan either, but I was at game tonight. My seats at Purdue bench side. Crean did the usual blow by, but then waited by the tunnel (standing in the gold confetti on the floor - I took a photo - a classic tragic scene) and waited until some of the excitement was over and for his team to get through the line. He then went back to half court and gave CMP a handshake and a back slap. It appeared he was congratulating him on the championship. Not sure when TV cut out, but this was a while after the end.

Who cares? Why do we have these irrelevant threads about iu when we just won a B1G championship? The OP sounds more like an obsessed iu hater more than a Purdue fan/supporter.

On to ignore, so I don't have to see this garbage anymore.

Purdue is solid and then some; congrats on a very good, clean program that plays hard, plays well, and has results to show for it.

SInce you guys are in the mood for IU threads like this one, a thought and a question;

The thought: The Crean blow by handshake WAS followed by a return visit and full congratulation from Crean to Painter. As much grief as Crean gets, this type of graciousness is reasonably common for him.
TwinD is a passionate fan, but his gold colored glasses should be focusing on Crean's lack of results as a coach and damn grateful that Purdue has had him to kick around for this long. As a human being? Crean has a flawed personality I'm more than sure, but at his core he is a well-meaning guy of integrity.

Now, a question: Now that Purdue has helped to officially end the Crean era at IU, who do you think will be the next IU coach? :)

I know you guys probably have the typical big names to throw around, but I always thought Mack is really good, but maybe look no further than that breeding ground of coaches, Butler.

Mack and Holtmann are both good, but I think they get regularly mentioned in large part because of their proximity to the primary in-state fan-bases (which is understandable). Same with Fife. Also, weren't there some allegations with legs that Mack and the Blueitt family had an...ahem...understanding?

Fife.

When these coaches leave the box and are on the floor (I don't care if they are out of bounds), I really wish a player with the ball would purposely run right into them and force the official to do something about it.

Crean got hit in the Mchigan game by Wagner if I recall the place and opposing player correctly. Wagner went down hard as did Crean. The officials didn't do shit. What bothered me even more though was his being out on the floor talking to Wymer while the game was going on.

Didn't catch that, but the refs are very lenient with that rule if that is the case. What is going to take for someone to get T'ed up? Might as well take the rule out of the book.

Wagner fell out of bounds and pretty much into the IU bench while shooting. When Wagner got up, he started running up court and didn't see Crean. Kinda ironic that the only time Crean has been run over was when he was out of bounds, and was well within the coach's box.

Last night? Crean was halfway to the jump ball circle and could easily have been T'd up for it. Would have made the Mackey crowd and a fair bit of Hoosier Nation happy if they had ;)

The irony here would be if it somehow happened one time with CMP in the post-season, and he got "T'd up" for it. I know....another set up for the "basketball gods."
