Could we use Heide this year?

He has length and athleticism.

Could he help THIS team?
He hasn’t performed well enough to get minutes on this team, so no. What are you basing the fact that he has length and athleticism on.. his warmups? You haven’t seen him play in a practice, let alone a game, so I’ll trust the coaching staff that evaluates him day in and day out on this one.

Well now your reaching out to proudopete who's also stayed at the Holiday Inn Express after we worked out with Heide and the coaches, we will discuss this a get back to you, is this the best number to reach you. 🤣

No, but Essigian sure would have made a BIG difference when others aren't hitting threes. Still wish he was a Boiler.

Obviously Heide can't consistently hit 3s or he would be playing.

He hasn't performed well enough, what a stupid statement!

So, this fan base has jumped off of Fletch now for Essigian? I'll keep Fletch even with a slump. He'll be fine, he's on a B1G title team & playing big minutes. Earlier in the season against tough competition was putting up good numbers. Hell, Ivey had slumps but I would take him again all day long.
Maryland guards ate his lunch, tall, athletic, fast and in his face. This is his problem

Maryland's players were aggressive and took everyone out of their game. This wasn't just on Fletch. I'm glad you're not coaching this team. A player has a slump and dump him.?? I see your philosophy. This kid was/is still up for all-B1G freshman team. Games like this will happen to a freshman guard. Especially, on a top 5 team where everyone is coming after you.

This hasn't been a problem or we would've lost the first game against them. Our team can rebound and get it together, but there needs to be a leader to step up....Mason?

Fletch is better than Essigian, not sure the person who wrote they wanted him was putting down Loyer.

Funny, that his name has popped up on our board and we have our team. We were #1 for a long time, still top 5-10 and should win the B1G. I don't want any other ayer than the players on this team. I trust CMP and these players to get it together.

No need to "want" other teams players..... we've got a team. Let's get behind them......

One guy isn't "this fanbase" and everyone loves to jump on a bandwagon. Essigian and Luke Goode are very good in state players that are going to have fine careers and hurt us at times.
You can't sign everyone that is good. ;)
Fletcher is going to be very good when he's bigger and stronger.
They'll be back on that bandwagon when the time is right.

You're correct on "this fan base" but wrong on just "one" person. It's multiple but comes with the territory.

Fletch was one of, if not the best high school shooter coming into college.

Same people who thought Carsen shot too much.

Expanding your mind....would it be possible that Loyer is very good & Essigian is good too?

Both can be true imo.

Just nice to have another shooter when one goes cold. Essigian is @ 43% on threes I believe....his ability is in no way a slight to Loyer.

It was funny when he was getting up in Gillis’s grill acting like a tough guy. Gillis would rip his head off and shit down his neck

I disagree I feel he was redshirted because he wasn't fully recovered enough from injuries and lost a lot of practice time last summer. When he's healthy he is definitely one of the most athletic players on the team.IMO

LOL. We've got a whole team of guys who can't consistently hit 3s.
Hard to understand why that is. They were good shooters in high school. Maybe the rims are smaller. Lol! Look at David Jenkins stats. Now that he plays for us his shooting percentage is overall down in everything.

Maybe the competition is better in the Big Ten than in HS?

Everything happens twice as fast. Guys are bigger AND quicker than you at times. That's staggering to go against. Then you're working 3x harder on D than you EVER did in HS. Shaky legs at times.

No question that’s true. In Jenkins case even his FT% is down from previous years.
In Jenkins case, the step up in competition probably doesn’t have as much impact as his decreased playing time.
For sure the freshman facing athletes at the D1 level compared to HS has to be a factor.
As the freshman get stronger and spend hours in the gym, their game gets better.
