I really wish I could trick myself into believing that this loss wasn't that big of a deal and that we will come back a better team next year. However, what we have coming back is a middle of the road team, with no proven leader (on the floor or the sideline). We are praying for a freshman point guard to be able to come in and fill a huge void. My biggest hope for him is that Painter allows him to be the offensive threat that he an be. We need much more talent, but we'll likely bank a couple scholarships for guys we won't get in the 2017 class. Painter has proven himself to be a mediocre recruiter, mediocre coach, and poor motivator. It is what it is.

Very well said. So many will say "wait til next year". Sadly, those guys will be saying that til the day they die, unable to cope with reality.

The worst part for me is that I'm neither surprised nor all that upset. Called this from the beginning of the season, and it played out as expected. Apathy has been reached in basketball and football.
