I have been very outspoken on Painter for years on this board. 17 years, one elite 8. Any school with any type of basketball history would not accept this. This tournament was laid out via a red carpet...yet he was outcoached by someone making less than his assistants.
The last thing I want is another Keady. He was a solid coach...but at what point do we strive for more? We are on the exact same path. I am currently 47 years old. At the Painter pace, we will have reached one more elite 8 by the time I am 64. At some point, you have to cut your losses.
We have an unbelievable fan base. We have an unbelievable home court advantage. We play in a state that has a lot of talent. It is time to quit settling. Painter has had 17 years to make this work. One elite 8 is not enough....
