You forgot to add that "lowlife" school you love so much pays their HC $8M/yr ... you can bet the agent to the new prospective coach at Purdue will have all the specs of that IU contract written down as negotiations. After all, you have a much better history in football ... money talks and bullshit walks as they say. Don't forget the $9M you still owe Walters.

Because if you don't pay, you're not going to get. Either you do or you continue to become just another losing program. Like Indinia was for so many years as they dwelled in the basement. The Haze, The Hope, Walters....common thread same results.

If you don't pony up NIL, then you lose your best players (or don't attract new ones) to programs that will. It's the world we live in with college sports now. Gotta pay to play.

If that's your philosophy, then every pro (or college) contract would pay a minimal salary and all be loaded with performance incentives. It doesn't work that way.

Money should be no issue. The TV deal is huge and JPC is like 80M a year for all giving. This money stuff is nonsense. Find a good staff!

I’m not a Nil fan. I doubt any of the players who were paid big money gave any of that money back when they didn’t produce. I also don’t like paying coaches a big salary until they have a proven winning success.

Maybe that means we will lose out on a lot of players. Look at the money Pack received to play for Miami. The money didn’t come from Miami. It came from a rich booster who wanted to use the player to advertise his uncial firm.

I have said it many times before. If a player really wants to make money, they can make their own nil deals. They don’t need colleges to do it for them.

I’m dead set against players demanding money to attend a school. If a player wants more than a college education, let them hire an agent to make their money for them. Curre they have handlers, lawyers and advisors. Is that the same thing as an agent?

It’s time colleges got out of the paying athletes business and let the athletes find their own money!

I don't think Purdue will go that high, but they need to get in the $7.5 to 8.5 million range to get above the mid tier salaries for the big ten. With Cignetti's new contract, there are 9 coaches making over $7 million. Walter's contract was only above Foster's at UCLA.

A report on X said no public sources have reported or know of any vetting of potential coaches going on. It was a long 3 pages of content posted as jpg's .... BOT and AD wanted Walters to stay but the Prez did not. It also mentioned the IU game results might have cemented his fate from being on thin ice. MONEY IS NO OPTION ... but that might be old news to you as I did not see the ADs press conference that was posted here. The lack of vetting thing though IMO puts you hiring after the transfer portal window for visits and meeting the new coaching staff.

Paying a high price doesn't guarantee success for anyone but the coaches retirement account.
