Not wanting to be a negative, but we need 2 new players for sure...point guard and a center/forward.

Got the PG...now we need another body. Would see Painter either going the JC or 5th year route if something doesn't fall in place soon. Got to keep recruiting. I see Painter banking one for sure.

Maybe De'ron Davis gets disgusted with IU, and decides to come to Purdue. I've heard of nothing after Bruce Brown commited to Miami. I'm sure Painter will go for a 5th year in some form just to fill a scholarship. I agree you need 2 recruits or you could have less consistency. Maybe we will get early 2017 recruits when they see how well this team can do.

I am sure it will look good to upcoming recruits if we continue to be ranked top 10 or teens. A deep run come March will really help. 2017 should be a nice year.

I'm just reading on twitter than PJ's little brother is a pretty highly regarded freshman prospect. Anyone have any info on him?

This summer was a good one for the class of 2019 that impressed as much as an incoming class in recent memory. One of those top players is the brother of Purdue point guard P.J. Thompson. 2019 Zionsville freshman IsaiahThompson played with Spiece Indy Ice playing up a year and did well. Courtesy of In The Gym Hoops, here is his summer highlights.

I agree that things would be looking better for the 2016 class if they got a commitment sooner than later. Does anyone know if they've been looking at any of the top JC players? I think that might be the way to go, as far as bigs are concerned, after missing out on Banks and Herard. It seems like CMP has shied away from them over the last 5 years but I don't know why. I thought Nemanja Calasan was a good role playing big man with shooting range and he had some pretty productive games but he's the last JC player to play for CMP. It's perplexing since Purdue has traditionally had pretty good luck going that route (Carl Landry being the best example).

After looking at our interest list for 2016, I don't see any big men that haven't committed elsewhere. I'm a bit nervous as we need to keep the recruiting momentum going.

Not worried about 2016 as our bigger gap will come in 2017 assuming Biggie stays 2 years.
Agree.

Isaac and Caleb will both be here next year. It's 2017 that we need to make sure and get a new batch of talent to keep the train rolling!

I love Ray and AJ but we might be even better next year if our only losses are seniors and we add Carson, who is tearing up Texas. That said, let's enjoy a good game tonight against a good Pitt team.

Boiler up!
