Kind of surprising, yet may be telling. From a fan's perspective it seems like he would be an injury away from QB'ing a high octane offense on a good team this year and the inside track at starting the following year.

Then again, maybe he saw Allen and realized Allen is the heir apparent to O'Connell.

I remember suggesting Alaimo had to be questioning a transfer after O'Connell announced his return. I was essentially laughed at. Not so funny now...

Hopefully Allen turns out differently than Alaimo...if not, we're in trouble after O'Connell is gone, unless we get a really good transfer QB...
really disappointing to me, being an East Coast guy I was really excited when we got him and I thought he was going to be really good for us. With 4 yrs of elligibility left he'll be good elsewhere. He's a winner.

With Allen coming on early, and going through Spring practices, I am really hoping that he can move up to #2 by Fall.

Not exactly what I was expecting after Plummer left. Thought he would be competing for #2 spot in 22 and #1 spot in 23. Limited options now for filling out the QB room. May have to count on Brohm finding the next Aidan through an under-recruited PWO.
Can't afford for one injury to torpedo an entire season.

There was question as to whether he would hold off Allen in this year's pecking order.

Alaimo must have see. The writing ok the wall. If Allen has a better arm and he doesn’t think he could realistically beat him out, it’s logical that he transfers. Allen is likely the #3 this coming year, but wouldn’t really play a whole lot unless AOC gets hurt.

I believe Allen and the other incoming QB prospect in 2023 had more to do with his decision to leave than burton. he saw the writing on the wall. he wasn't going to play this year or next year or any of the next 5-10 years for purdue. Allen will most likely red-shirt this year and start next year and subsequent years. Allen was recruited with the intention he would start early . he enrolled early and will be ready to back up this year, and start next.

so i guess purdue pat 1969 now knows what it feels like to be laughed at ?

hmmmmm........ looks like the packers just restructured a contract ........... hmmmmmmmmm. one down............. don't confuse me with the facts .........................

Probably already have the next AOC

Allen it seems has the ‘it’ that so few QB’s have, but it is HS football and I don’t know what his playbook was like. I’m guessing he has a pretty high IQ, it seems like that’s the dividing line for players who can play under CJB. That ability to understand, decipher and master the playbook to where they don’t have to think on the field

you could see it when Aiden got to the point that it was just in stinks anymore. It seems like nobody else really got to that point except maybe Sindelar

Aiden is a quick processor. And accurate. That’s really all you need.

Unfortunately for the Coats, Wentz is neither of those things…

My kid in high school had all the “in stinks” and football IQ you could ever want in a QB even though he was going to a school with 3000 students and lots of competition. His junior year I was watching practice and noticed the sophomore transfer QB. I offered to send my kid to the local Catholic high school if he wanted to start at QB after that one day. It was obvious he’d never be better than backup. Maybe it’s the same situation here.

My kid only started two games at QB in his final two years. Both because the stud didn’t make grades.

I spoke with Elijah once about the difference between the offenses with Hazel and Brohm. He said they had about four times as many different plays they could run in a game with Brohm than with Hazel. He also said he found it easier to run Brohm's offense even though there were four times as many plays.

I don't recall if the number was exactly four, maybe he said three, but it was a lot more.

I took it as Brady Allen must be looking ahead of the curve since he stepped foot on campus.

Actually insiders say he is throwing the ball “ like a freshman” in winter drills. So I wouldn’t consider that ahead of the curve.
Interesting. (I always love the info from "insiders".)

Shouldn't he be in HS? And, he's throwing "like a freshman"? Sounds like he's ahead of schedule.

Maybe the insiders are those who catch his passes everyday for the last 4 weeks. And while yea he should still be in HS ( even though his last season was a few months ago) I can assure you he is throwing the ball now more than he would be if he was still in high school with his own trainers. And No, he’s not “ahead” of the curve. From the lnsider. Anything else you wanna know?

You okay, bro?

Maybe, guys improve, he will surely get some reps in spring game, have to see
Dude is going into his sixth year. You would have seen it by now. Oconnell could throw it well in practice a long time ago… know how we know? He moved up from 9th on the depth chart to 3rd highest rates passer in America. If Burton could process and get good throws out, brohm would have pushed it.

I almost feel like Burton is gonna be the new Jared sparks
