Fair but what were you saying when you got Ballo, Carlyle, Rice etc? Pretty sure every IU fan was claiming victory
We’re just a few weeks and portal purchases away from a 15th consecutive OFFSEASON CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!
He was pretty conservative on those 3 but did call Reneau the “best PF in our league” prior to the season.
When I countered with TKR is better, I was told “teams didn’t double TKR, tho”.
Tried to tell him cuz IU couldn’t shoot—much like this year. More importantly, though, teams couldn’t afford to due to Zach.

Actually he would be starting over a bit anyhow and this way he can try to fill his needs. Before the portal this would or could be a few years before much results, but now you can hire a mercenary with the skills you are seeking in a mature player
Malik kinda fell off this season. Injuries didn't help him. But also having Ballo didn't help him. He will be off to the SEC if I had to guess.
We've seen that before at IU. Kyle Taber was the only player to return from the 07-08 team and play for Crean. That team won 6 games. Way different nowadays. Louisville brought back zero guys and went from 8 to 27 wins. DeVries took WVU from 9 to 19 and had 1 returning player. Pope didn't bring a single guy back and has Kentucky a 3 seed and in the S16. Portal just makes things waaaaay different. Crean didn't win anything until Zeller showed up. It was 6, 10 and 12 before that.

Looks like painter and staff are working hard behind the scenes. We have Cluff visiting and a player from VT. Saying Purdue has expressed interest. I have to believe there are others. I also believe others will enter the portal after this weekend
No a 6’8 guy who didn’t play much this year. He has 3 years left. Only highlights I could find were him in HA shooting 3s but paint and staff must see something in him.
You need to let up on Woody, he is just a long line of coaches at IU that have been mediocre at best. Fact: IU is underwater this CENTURY in the BIG TEN, 224 W and 225 L. Maybe that is what IU has become. Woody actually was a PLUS 1, in his career!
Not if you are a premier program in the Big Ten. IU was 38 games under .500 in that stretch, which is a lot, but Purdue is 38 games over .500 in the past four years of conference games.
So if we have 3-4 spots open and our top 8-9 rotation is more or less fixed, the portal guys would be all 2 or 3 in the depth chart at each position, except maybe a 5, so are guys like Berg and Waddell etc actually as good as you will get for end of bench slots 11-15?
