like to see us get the 7'3 kid from Youngstown to share time w/ DJ or Rock then add a guy like Tae Davis, like the way he attacks the basketIf TKR weren't around, would probably make sense.

Davidson is already in the portal.Coming from New Castle (not there now) and knowing the Alfords I watch Nevada when I get a chance. Davidson is a player who could be a bit more physical on defense, but does play solid D. He can score from outside, or inside and makes the team around him better. This was one of Steve's worst years in Nevada, and I'm sure he's going to do whatever he can to keep Davidson.
That being said, will CMP ever let a big man move outside?
Or third choice and a guy named Edey.I have to believe painter has been in contact with player(s) he wants to add and those players who already announced their new destination had already contacted Painter if they were interested in Purdue. Painter publicly admitted he was recruiting both Jones and his SIU teammate but only had 1 scholarship to give at the time. Painter also admitted of the two players, jones was his second choice. Painter has done well with his second choices. Look at Cox vs the guy who went to Kentucky.
7'3 Gabe Dynes Youngstown St, Horizon League leader in blocked shotsOr third choice and a guy named Edey.
I feel like Berg could average 10/8/2 if he played at a low major like Youngstown St.
He really really struggled this past season. Not sure why, but it was a massive dip.
Kid from west side Washington 6-10 is leaving North Carolina may want to come homefalse claims ?
I don’t know how high we are on him so 🤷♂️Kid from west side Washington 6-10 is leaving North Carolina may want to come home
Doesn’t seem like we reached out…
Thanks for sharing that video! A lot of options. Cluff seems to have excellent footwork and quick feet, good passer, but scores around the rim. Very good rebounder. Ballard maybe fairly similar in some of those aspects, but Davidson and Williamson much more range. Davidson probably not quite the rebound or shot blocking presence of the first 2.Correct on Ballard…hasn’t even attempted a 3 in his career 😂
I like williamson’s athletic ability and rim protection. And he can shoot it a bit outside from 3. I feel like he’s where DJ will be in 2 years.
And here is Davidson highlights…he can score and shoot the 3…37% on 4 attempts a game….he prob isn’t going to transfer here and take a backseat 😂 I hope I’m wrong.
7-3? I can't wait to see the 7-9 kid at Florida and if he ever plays.
He can return to Nevada taking himself out of the portal if he chooses to.Davidson is already in the portal.
Oscar CluffThere's a mystery big who visits us this weekend then Iowa State. Apparently it's down to those two schools.
No shot. He gonna get more exposure and money at a higher schoolHe can return to Nevada taking himself out of the portal if he chooses to.
I'd love for PU to get a defensive minded guard who can also score to relieve Braden.like to see us get the 7'3 kid from Youngstown to share time w/ DJ or Rock then add a guy like Tae Davis, like the way he attacks the basket
I don't doubt that. Just pointing out that just because you're in the portal, you don't have to stay.No shot. He gonna get more exposure and money at a higher school
But also means the school doesn’t have to honor the scholarship and take them backI don't doubt that. Just pointing out that just because you're in the portal, you don't have to stay.
That's true too. Alford ain't that stupid. But also means the school doesn’t have to honor the scholarship and take them back
Watched play as a regionite a number of times, besides being injury prone I don’t like his game that much. In my opinion he’s a nice 8/9th played on a good team, I want Purdue to get a difference making big in the portal, he would be a lower level option. Why would you pass on him?
Oh man I totally read that original post by you wrong 😂Watched play as a regionite a number of times, besides being injury prone I don’t like his game that much. Just read an article that says he's a lean toward Iowa State. Some connection with the coach there. There’s solid info that confirms that?!
I hope not I would really like to get this guyJust read an article that says he's a lean toward Iowa State. Some connection with the coach there.
He probably knows that he's not going to the pros and is looking for a nice parting payday
I dunno given how he shoots, think you could play high low with Cluff. Both could get 20, and both could play 30 minutes a game. Put three guards around them to shoot and force teams to spend their energy focused on those two.We are not going to get a high scoring #5. We don't have the shots for them and they aren't going to want to play 2nd fiddle to TKR. We're going to get a guy that compliments what we already have. Rim protector, rebounder and decent shooting % from field and FT line is what we will end up with. Sure, it sounds good to say we want a guy averaging 20 a game this past season, but that isn't what is going to happen.
CMP is going to get the support guys we need and we will be top 5 to start the year next year. Book it. I think I just convinced myself!
Apparently they met with Cluff a few days ago and he’s visiting Purdue this weekend. Then Iowa state is meeting again with him. I have a tad bit of hope that the door is open since he hasn’t committed to Iowa state just yet.Just read an article that says he's a lean toward Iowa State. Some connection with the coach there.

Big money makes people reevaluate situationsI've seen that. Not sure how true it is. I don't see him leaving for money. I think he's happy where he is and Purdue will win next year. So it'd be pretty wild to leave at this point. I think if Purdue can commit 5mil, they can keep the whole team(at least what they want to keep).
Agreed. Smith is really good, but you need someone who you can give the ball to and say “go get us a bucket or 2 points at the line. Don’t care how you do it.”We need a guy who can get his own shot vs anyone at anytime. Whether that be a guard or forward, I don’t mind, but that’s something we are lacking this year.
More concerned with his academic resume than playing under the bright lights
Come on man…If iu were playing Hamas, I’d probably cheer for Hamas.Lenny would be an IU bandwagon fan if only they didn't suck every year.
Need at least 2. Some combo of a 5, a scoring athletic 4 and a ball handling 1 who can create, shoot and finish.Painter just said we are going after "one or two" guys in the portal. I'm going to assume it's 2 unless he wants to keep a scholarship open for some reason.
Only chance you’re getting the latter is if Braden leaves.Need at least 2. Some combo of a 5, a scoring athletic 4 and a ball handling 1 who can create, shoot and finish.
😂😂More concerned with his academic resume than playing under the bright lights
Well that is true. I just didn't really see any achievable account being enough to make him leave.Big money makes people reevaluate situations
No kidding? I saw he Northwestern was in contention here as wellMore concerned with his academic resume than playing under the bright lights
How much does Purdue need to keep him and how much would another team need to offer to get him to seriously consider it?Well that is true. I just didn't really see any achievable account being enough to make him leave.
I’d say 2.5M minimum. But offers of 5M plus could make him listen but I think it also comes down to paint and the big 3 discussing what they need for next year and if paint and staff can get those guys. Or at least show them Purdue is willing to listen and try and go get em.How much does Purdue need to keep him and how much would another team need to offer to get him to seriously consider it?
